I would like to host another AR only big bore/double rifle/fun shoot at our place about 40 miles south of Dallas, it’s been terribly wet so would need to be held in early June (might be pretty warm), members that attended last year would have a slot if desired and would like to limit to about 15 shooters. Safety is and will always be foremost.
Please let me know if there is any interest and will we “make a plan”, fun shoot could include other than big bores or can shoot one of mine! Would just like to get a few AR members together to visit and have some fun.

I would like to go if I can. Will there be a BBQ? I’d be happy to cook some good BBQ. Is there any competitions? Largest bore? Best group of two? Best South African accent? Best safari outfit? Best bubba outfit, (Notice that I did not say “costume”) Ugliest gun? Prettiest? Best wood, best engraving, largest truck, best real mullet (start growing em in now) best home made desert? Biggest chew for 5 minutes? Horseshoes and cigars?

Largest bore? Maybe
Best group of two? tu2
Best South African accent? Nah…
Best safari outfit? Nah…
Best bubba outfit, (Notice that I did not say “costume”) Maybe
Ugliest gun? I’ve got a bunch of CZ’s Wink
Prettiest? I’ve got the ACGM rifle from last year
Best wood, see above
best engraving, tu2
largest truck, Todd would win this
best real mullet (start growing em in now) Not me!
best home made desert? Not from my wife
Biggest chew for 5 minutes? shocker
Horseshoes and cigars? Sure

Pretty much open to having a good safe time, will be pretty informal, bring your big bore (or shoot one of mine), plenty of time to shoot a pistol or smaller rifle, PM a phone number and I’ll give you a call for ideas. I can come up with some cheesy prizes for any competitions.

George and Todd, I’ve got you on the list.
I’ll get back with a firm date very shortly.

OK! I’m currently in Zim exercising my .416 Rigby. It’s horribly wet at my place, but will make a plan if it keeps raining. Looks like it will be JUNE 8, hope those have responded will attend and have room for more! Will PM or email all respondents when we get home in a few days. Very much open to ideas to make it more fun.

I may win the largest truck but unless someone shows up with a Blaser, I'll definitely win the ugliest rifle with my green / black zebra striped CZ!

Bill…due to the nonstop rain and freakish weather we are having to postpone the shoot until it dries out enough to set everything up. Hopefully, it will only be 2-3 weeks, but there is more rain in the forecast. I’ve sent PM to those that had expressed interest and perhaps moving the date will allow more shooters to participate.

Yes sir! It will be July 28, rain or shine (99% shine), ground is finally drying out, was able to mow my range area today; however, road one direction from our place still under water and closed. I expect it will be open by the 28 th, will update if one is coming from North of Ennis.
Bring what you want to shoot, big bores are good but just want to have a fun shoot….22 to .700. Will be hot but we’ll supply plenty of cold water and Gatorade.
Working on a couple of different ideas and other fun ideas are welcome, I’ll PM those that express interest, including those who were interested prior to the flood. Thanks!

No worries, Todd. Any AR member is welcome at our place, anytime (if the gates are open Wink.) AR member was here today testing/preparing for upcoming elephant hunt, bet he is very, very prepared…about the 5th time to practice tu2. And welcome anytime he wants/needs to shoot!

Good to see you are coming, it is going to be muddy, too muddy to drive in pasture so will have to park at the house and shuttle on UTV’s. I think rubber boots would be a good idea. Will have lots of water, Gatorade and soft drinks. A reminder to those coming from north or west of Ennis…your map will likely direct you down Ensign Rd, don’t use that route, low water bridge still closed. Have to go down I-45 to FM 1126 and west to Emhouse.

Guys…lots of rain but have decided the “shoot must go on”. Rubber boots would be a good idea. I’ll pm later today to those that have responded to earlier posts, address for shoot is 9411 NWCR 0130 Corsicana, Tx. See post above regarding road closure. Will have plenty of water, soft drinks and Gatorade.
I’d like to start about 8:30 or so, if possible. Have room for a few more shooters if anyone interested.

Update…drying out quickly, rubber boots won’t be needed and ground will be dry enough to drive into shooting area. Hopefully, won’t rain again before Saturday. Looking forward to it. Bring whatever you want to shoot.

It was fun! Lots of lead was sent down range, some really neat “different” rifles were brought out, everyone’s generosity with their rifles and ammo made it more fun. We will be doing it again next year with more and some different targets. Thanks!
