Looks like the early leader is the .416 caliber.
It has 2 votes before any others got more than one. horse

I know it is the forum Big Grin and there are only a few votes but no 300 or 338.

Hey Boom Stick, maybe you should have stuck this on Medium Bores because all the crowd here might be out Rugered by now Smiler

well the givens that hornger-rugady will make would be the 416 (this one comes out in january if rumors hold true) so their votes wont go without reward and next would be the 338

the 30 and 7mm might have a chance at production but not likely imho but hornger might be making too much money to stop...good for them if they do.

the 6.5, 35, 411 and 423 will be strictly wildcats and worthy of shelling out the dough to make and not waiting. the 411 will be an awesome versitile big bore with its pistol bullet capacity...

the 338 version shooting the 270 gr a frames @ 2700 fps would be killer! (pun intended)

How's this for bizarre - .348? Ever since the .375 Ruger was introduced, I thought it would be a great base for wildcats. If you could neck it down to .348 and then load up some Hawk Spitzers (yes, they make them) over, say VihtaVuori N150, you'd have a pretty powerful cartridge.

30 for me.

I know there is already a boatload of 30 mags , but none of them seem just exactly right to me . The 300 Ruger could be it.

I am really surprised they are going to do a 416 next , seems to me to be an even narrower marketing niche than the 375 bore.

A 9.3 or .35 would essentially duplicate the capabilties of the .375 .

Since we now have, well soon, .395 rifles, how about a .440? RIP has surmised the shoulder would not be enough for a .458, but a .440 should make it. If not, my vote is the .423.

i like the idea of turning a 375 ruger case and shooting 45-70 bullets out of a 450 marlin chambered gun.

If I necked the 375 Ruger up to .458" and then glued on a rim, could I shoot it in a 45-70?

my guess was the 458 was too big and only a shortened version will work but might as well do the wsm version because of the dies and reamers avaliable...

the 411 would be the mose versitile big bore.

How about .429? Wink
Boom stick could use .44 Mag pistol bullets in this one, also (and call it the .440 Ruger). Look at the number of 300gr monometal bullets made that would provide adequate American deeer use.

It looks like the 338 and 416 are running neck and neck

The more likely one is the .358 but that caliber seems to not be popular in the US
Too bad as it's where the muscle should be.

I think it would make a very nice .358 using heavier 270 or 300 grain bullets.

the 338 seems to be the winner here since the 416 is comming out soon, we might have to wait till the following shot show to see the 338 if they decide to pull the trigger. i am sure they are in development as we speak.

160 to 300 grains in weights of bullets...

should be interestng...
