Since Rocky and Diane retired and sold Brush Country, I've been looking for a good cat taxidermist. With a lion hunt booked for this year, I'm looking for suggestions. I want the best if successful.

Check out everybody before you commit. But be sure you view BIG CAT TAXIDERMY. Leland Reiner in Craig, Colorado. I've been very impressed with all his work.

Leland Reiner did my cat, and while he did an amazing job, it was a +4 year shit show with delay after delay after delay and never ending excuses before my cat was done. Extremely frustrating.

Phil Soucy will get any other cats I choose to mount.

Stay well away from Animal artistry in Reno .

I’ve had nothing but dramas with them on my last lot of taxidermy. Dishonest is one word that fits them.

Even among taxidermists themselves, Phil Soucy sets the bar.

I'm using Atcheson Tax. in Butte Montana IF I am successful for my lion. Mark Young recommend him. I am hunting leopard also and will use Phil Soucy for him IF I'm lucky enough to get one. I'll leave in 3 weeks, July 1. Will be with Lin Stanton

If recent USFWS permit timelines are any indication, you’ve got about 2-3 years to think about it.

Having said that - Phil Soucy is the best with all cats.

One other you may wish to consider is Wildlife Revolution in Sparks, Nevada. Joe Zwiefel, the owner, used to be one of the main taxidermists at Animal Artistry. He went out and started his own studio, and their work is excellent.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
