Hi Guys
I am off to Zambia, then Mozambique with Boddington tomorrow. About a month on this tour of duty. I could not resist posting some before and after pics of a 14 ft. croc I shot in Moz a while back. I am a very avid croc hunter and decided to really throw good taste out the window and have the whole thing mounted lifesize. As always, Dan Catlin and his great team at The Wildlife Gallery hit it out of the park. In fact, Dan and Charlotte came to Texas to help me hang it up (GOD what a process) and then we nipped off to hunt Axis deer in the hill country. This is really a show stopper of a mount if I do say so myself and I just wanted to show my AR buddies my new pride and joy! See you in a month

This was definitely a show stopper of a mount for Dave's trophy room, and an incredible task getting him hung. I had our fabrication shop make a custom - adjustable bracket for this mount, and we could not have hung it without the bracket and lots of help, sweat, and soar backs....

I included a couple pictures of the crock and the Axis Deer Dave guided Charlotte on. Dave is a "Hoot" to hunt with I tell you, and we enjoyed every minute of it.... Thanks Dave, DAN

Dave - Super mount. I just dropped off some skins to Dan the other day - they have a excellent operation and it is good to see a business doing well in northern Michigan. . Good luck and safe travels.

What a huge crock and great mount!!! Congrats Dave! Looks like you have filled that new trophy room up since I was there. (Several years ago when you had the DFW SCI meeting at your place.)
Dan, what did the mount end up weighing? Do you have nay pics of the mounting bracket...... or is that proprietary??

Is that a warthog in the croc's mouth in the trophy photo?

Very cool mount, looks like you have got quite a trophy room as well. Any chance for more pics of your whole trophy room? Please! Big Grin

Thanks guys. Dan and his team deserve all the credit! The critter in his mouth was a fully mature bush pig boar.I will be in the silver tube this time tomorrow looking forward to getting the hell off and a good nights sleep at Afton House.
Hoping for a really nice sable in Zambia, a trophy that for whatever reason has been elusive for me so far in a pretty full safari life. Maybe this time. I always said I will only take one, and I hope this trip will be the one I find him on ! Then I hope the shot will do both he and I credit. As it will be on the show, you will all see if it comes right this time.
Hope you enjoyed the croc pics, I really loved the mount. Thanks to Dan and the guys at Wildlife Gallery. And bye the way, It has been a very long time since I enjoyed guiding a hunter(and she is both a hunter and skilled shooter ) as Dan's wife Charlotte. Hard hunting, fun, and a pleasure to be with the both of them.

I thought everyone would be interested in Dave's reproduction croc head. Dave was kind enough to allow me to reproduce the massive head on his croc and use it for this new line of tables that we have created. We had this particular table and chairs at the Dallas Safari Club Show. This set has been sold, but we can make another just like it. The croc head actually has a light inside the mouth which makes it very impressive indeed. Would make quite a conversation piece in anyones trophy room...

Absolutely huge croc, great place to put it!! It is big enough to drown a mature buffalo. It could swallow a man whole. Takes a 5 meter/16ft croc to do that. Essentially one ton of croc.
I love croc hunting!! Crocs can be incredibly difficult to stalk.
Congrats!
