My most prized trophy!

Joe YoungMy most prized trophy!
My 12 yr old grandson with his first buck. Taken last Nov on the first day of the Ohio two day youth hunting season. A one kill shot with a 20 gauge slug. The buck was a 17 point (non typical) whitetail scoring in the high 130's. Not a record, but an outstanding accomplishment for the boy after several heart operations starting at age two, and being diagnosed as an insulin dependent diabetic last year. I think this young trooper will some day break his own record!

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......
"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

Ehg5640A nice buck and a great grandson. Where was the deer shot? I was borned and raised in Cambridge, Ohio and owned a farm (a hillside) just south of Sencaville Lake, until last year. Hunted rabbits every Fall but never saw a deer in Ohio until I was 18 years old,i.e. 1958.
Looks like that grandson will do the next generation of hunters proud. Nice post.
