Motion detection cameras are huge in the US, but I don't hear about them being used in Africa. I just fininshed a hunt in Zim where we got a picture of a leopard on bait and later killed the cat in the same area. I have no reservations about the use of the camera and the picture makes a great keepsake. Is this the future of hunting?

world class cat ...GREAT JOB i have used the trailcams and they are awesome ..

well done....a big leopard is the hardest of the dangerous game to take ... they have "been round the block" and are a wily adversity !

Great pictures and, yes, I too think trails cams can be great tools when hunting cats. I was able to get some great before and after pics last September in Tanzania. It's great to be able to tell exactly when and how often a leopard feeds. Mine hit the bait about every 2-3 hours the night before I got him and usually fed for about 20 minutes. My PH loved the camera so much I gave it to him before I left.

Dang nice cat.

As for the camera, why would it be acceptable to use the latest innovations in firearms, bullets, illuminted reticles on optics etc. and turn your nose up at the camera?

Anything that can help identify and assist with judging the age and maturity of an animal, within reason, should be deployed.

The only problem with the game cameras is that they are addicting! I took one to Botswana and put on a water hole. Very cool photos of everything from Wildebeest to Brown Hyena to Vultures feeding on a Donkey at midnight.

I think there an awsome tool for bait hunting. You can look at the pictures an see exactly what size of cat is hitting the bait.
Should help to harvast mature cats making the hunting better for all.

I have walked in the foot prints of the elephant, listened to lion roar and met the buffalo on his turf. I shall never be the same.

First of all beautigul cat!

About the trail camera...how did you set it up, and did it film/video the kill?

Those pictures are an awesome addition to your hunt. Good Job!
