Of the good ol'days, I would like to start a thread bringing back some of Rich's finest moments on AR. To join in, all you need to do is go to the link below, find a couple of "Richuistic" words (Ka-Bar, gut, slimy, dead, etc.), go to the advanced search, enter the word and "Idaho Sharpshooter" as the author, then copy and post the link here.
I miss you Rich, Hope your giving them hell wherever you are.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

I never had anything more serious than a civil, albeit vigorous, disagreement or two with IS, on this forum or off.

But it's not enough that he got himself banned, huh?

Now we're invited to pile on and kick him when he's down.

Nice to see that some of us are above that.

ISS was kinda like Roy D Mercer with PTSD, I was never threatened by him but for some reason he thought he knew me personally, must have had me confused with someone else. He was going to stop by and have lunch on a road trip he took every year. He never made it, would have liked to met the guy

It's interesting reading some of these 8 year old threads and seeing posters say, "AR has really gone downhill and all the good posters are driven off". 8 years later posters are still saying the same thing.

I think you have it wrong Michael, This thread was truly meant to bring back some of the good times, humor and one of the most colorful, entertaining characters who has blessed this forum with their presence and insight. While it goes without saying that some's "red-ass" here is not easily forgotten, and they will no doubt surface on this thread and express their continued disdain, it was intended for those of us who used to come on here to see what craziness had been posted. Some around here need to lighten up, you are not that important, and even if you are, the bullshit that gets posted here definitely is not.

Reading that old thread reminds me of a lunch I had with Brian Mancini in Feb 2016. He had been hit with an IED, blind in one eye, had a million surgeries, a titanium plate in his head, etc. He started a charity called Honor House, with a mission to help veterans suffering from PTSD. I chatted with him a few times after that lunch, but never did much after that.

He was the subject of the lead 60 Minutes story on Sunday. Killed himself last year; scientists are studying his brain to understand the effects of blast waves on the brain.

Didn't he do the optical allusion picture with the 100+ pound ivory out of Him that was really 20 or something. That picture was perfect.

Joyce and I were on a Pronghorn hunt in Colorado with Aaron Neilson and I showed him that picture and his reaction was priceless.

I heard some fabulous stories about him at Pedza camp. I’d really like to meet that guy.
