That does not make much sense! I would think the croc would have grabbed him by the head and torso, drug him into the water and drowned him. How would just his right hand be recovered if his "body was discovered by students"?

TIA !! (THat is Africa!)

Maybe the hand still tightly gripped a tree root? Cool

Hunting: I'd kill to participate.

This happened when I was in Zim in '05. A runner came to our camp and explained that a fisherman was running his gill next at night on the local pond, about 200 acres. Well the next morning he wasn't back and someone found one foot and the head. We were asked to come and kill the croc, so we drove over there and found out that the land that these people now lived on (after the land redistribution) was once a game farm that coincidentaly had a commercial croc farming operation alongside the pond. Well, you guessed it, the locals tore down the pens and used the wires for snares. The pond is now full of hungry crocs and this is the primary water source for the village as well. There were so many crocs in that pond and it is so big that my PH said it would take a few baits to get the big croc in a spot he could be shot. I only had one day left on my hunt, so he reckoned he'd have to sort it out after I left.

According to the "chief" on the property, they had snared all of the game animals and were now "putting the land good use" by farming it.
