Very interesting, Kathi. Thanks for posting it. And where do you find this stuff?

Kathi,

Be sure to see the "Barbary" Lions at the old Emperor's Palace in Addis Ababa.

I'll second that Kathi. I about near lost my mind when I saw them. There's about eight of them, and they are the eight best lions I've ever seen anywhere, better than anything pen raised in RSA, better than anything seen coming out of Botswana in recent years, better than anything in the old school safari books. They are so spectacular.

My luggage got lost from London to Addis. I was such an idiot for flying British Air. I think you told me not to. They finally found my guncase and duffle bag in Syria at the Damascus airport. When Jason called to inform me British Midland (Air) had found my luggage, I was going on my second hour at the zoo just gazing in awe at these lions.

Although they are in captivity, there is nothing tame about them. Second to that big nyala we got, these lions were perhaps the most spectacular sight in Ethiopia.
