Just re-watched the excellent video on hunting elephant by Charlton MccCallum. Recocognized Dan, Bill C., Will, Russelll and who else?

That is a great video!

Proud to say I have a minor role in Buzz's video.
The only thing is he used me as an example of things NOT to do on your Elephant Safari.

Don't know if any of you picked up his most recent DVD? I thought the elephant video was great but I enjoyed this one more, especially the mass charge by the "Zambezi Ladies". They were lucky to get out of there only killing two cows and their skins!!!!! Best 40 bucks I ever spent!
Haveany AR members done the PAC hunt with him?

There is another thread about that one. I picked one up and am about 2/3 through it. Good stuff so far.

I am in there, but haven't watched it since it first came out so I can't tell you off-hand how to identify the scenes I show up in.

I am in the elephant hunting DVD and I believe I am also in the new Zambezi Extreme DVD although I haven't seen it yet. However, Allan and I did have a mass charge by some Zambezi ladies in the Deka area this past October which was caught on video. Allan ended shooting the matriarch at about seven yards. The game scout also fired into the ground while I ran backwards in half circles trying to get out of the way. I was wearing a brown leather wide brimmed hat and had a moustache and goatee at that time. My rifle was a Searcy 470. Hey Charles, was it me in that video?

Mike, that would be you. You are a star. The cameraman also takes a bit a tumble in the heat of the rapid retreat.

I know that I am biased since I hold Buzz in high regard, but I think his elephant hunting video is the finest hunting video I have ever seen (with all due respect for his latest video which is excellent too) bar none. Entertaining and educational at the same time. Kevin Robertson's video, The Perfect Shot is pretty darn good too.

Sorry -- I missed this earlier. I have not gotten that far in the video but it looks like MJines has answered the question. Now I need to hurry up and finish the DVD. Cool

I am a Star!? I'll try not to let it go to my head, at least until I see the video. I did manage a clean one shot kill on my tuskless, but after that I just tried to get the hell out of the way without accidently shooting anyone.

It has been awhile since I watched it, so assuming we are talking the same video. Ann Horseman made a great shot! From the position of the elephant she had to go through the trunk for the frontal brain shot, and nailed it!

I have watched this DVD many times and never tire of it.As you guys seem to have some inside knowledge of its content here,s a question for you.At one point you see a older Gentleman lineing up to take a heart, lung shot and he is armed with a double rifle. It appears to me that he is cradleing the rifle not griping the forestock at all. At the shot the rifle recoils wildly out of control. The second shot where he does take hold of the fore end looks like it might have hit some part of Africa but a lethal hit on the Ele. would have been a fluke. I just can not see how someone who had done any shooting at all with that big bore rifle would try a shooting position like that.
