Zimbabwe hunting exposed - thank you for the compliment on our facts reported to date. We too have 75 plus years collective experience in the safari industry, so yes we have been around the block a few times and know who is who and what is what.

My understanding was that there was no mention of extradition at this meeting. Jeff

Nothing in the official meeting, correct. We said we had a conversation after the meeting with a senior parks officer. Who has been part of and privy to a lot to do with Bronkhorst issue, and the Other operator / land occupier Headman Sibanda. Occupier of Antoinette property was due in court sometime this week.

This fiasco is really getting out of hand.........tonight on South African news channels it was reported that a " rare black maned lion " was shot outside Hwange.....rare...... And even more sickening is that a American toy maker is going to start making " Cecil the lion " toys to commemorate his life and a part of the profit will be given to animal welfare groups in Africa.........

In other words, the toy maker has found a quick way to cash in and line his pockets. Never let a crisis go to waste you know!

When they name the toy maker we will ban him too.

While it is true the game dept is not seeking extradition, other elements of the government are. You are not giving the straight facts here. Jeff

Actually...there is A LOT of truth to this post. EVERYONE...and I repeat EVERYONE has a black African partner these days. The financially successful one's usually have politically connected one. Like the man says...many here would be shocked if they knew some the black partners of "their guys"! People (if you can call them that) like "Black Jesus" are becoming prevalent partners in hunting companies. Sad...but very true! Now with all the hoopla over "Cecil"...the real story, the corruption of the industry, is lost to the greenie hype! The real news is the corruption of the industry by these ZANU-PF thugs like this landowner...and the white trash that is low enough to partner/deal with them. Once great venues (like Chirisa & Chete) are ruined forever by these bloody bastards! Gone!!!

Jeff[/QUOTE There was no mention of extradition of either client in these hunts. We think that rhetoric is most probably political if anything, but still damaging to our industry, as future clients may be hesitant to come to Zimbabwe . These concerns were stressed in strong terms to the national parks Director General aswell.

Typical of such government depts / organizations ... The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.. I guess we are used to it in Third world countries like Zimbabwe ..

Could he be giving us the straight facts as he knows it out of parks. The people in parks probably have a decent understanding of what is at risk right now. Especially after the meeting. The Zanu PF / Cabinet level people are probably disconnected and don't care. They are on a sanctions list (or their boss is) instigated by the USA. They have plenty of money stashed away. They only care about trying to embarrass the USA by trying to extradite a US citizen and keeping this in the media for another week or until it plays out. They don't care about their people or the jobs at jeopardy. They simply have the world stage for 15 minutes and are using it to thumb their nose at the USA.

Magistrate Lindiwe Maphosa ordered the trial to reconvene on September 28 to hear the case against Bronkhorst, who has been charged with "failing to prevent an illegal hunt". Bronkhorst, who runs a safari company, denies any wrongdoing over the hunt in early July when Walter Palmer, a dentist from Minnesota, paid $55,000 (50,000 euros) to shoot the lion with a bow and arrow. The hunt provoked worldwide outrage when it emerged that Cecil was a well-known attraction among visitors to the Hwange National Park and was wearing a tracking collar as part of an Oxford University research project. "I feel sorry for my client (Palmer). He is a good man. He did nothing wrong," Bronkhorst told reporters as he left the court in Hwange town. Palmer, an experienced trophy hunter, became the target of vicious abuse over the killing, and went into hiding after demonstrations outside his dental practice. Palmer apologised for killing Cecil, who was renowned for his distinctive black mane, and appeared to blame Bronkhorst for misleading him. But Bronkhorst said he was innocent of all charges and had obtained all the permits required to kill an elderly lion that was outside the national park boundaries.

If any country begins to try to extradite tourists because they engaged licensed professionals in that country who allegedly didn't follow the law, tourism is over. Period. I knew there was a good reason I wouldn't go to Zim.

Sorry, but I stick by my original assessment. Our mystery writer explained it as though NO ONE was seeking extradition. Jeff

As most of us "who know",,,'KNOW",,,this whole Cecil debacle is ludicrous...and EXTREMELY SO. 1) The greenie-idiot world making Cecil a household name when NO ONE outside of a few researchers and Johnny Rod' ever heard of him before! Here, the real story is that a scaly WOWS PH elected to do business with ZANU-PF thug who stole a white Rhodesian's land and conducted an illegal hunt and that BLACK Zimbabweans don't give a rat's-@$$ about Cecil or any other wildlife for that matter. The only thing "they" care about is USD$. The part hat really needs to be brought out is the "quota-transfer" issue as had they killed the lion cleanly, they would have done a quota-transfer and the world would still NOT know who/what the hell Cecil was. So, missed opportunity #1 focus on the quota-transfer issue. 2) The extradition issue! The Zim Government (NOT Parks) is the one to push the extradition thing! But NOT because they give a $h!t about Cecil, BUT BECAUSE THE USA EMBARASSED THEM WITH THE IVORY BAN! This is simple tit-for-tat petty elementary school politics played by the ZANU-PF idiots that run the Zim gvt; NOTHING MORE! What is laughable, is this extradition BS will cut their noses of to spite their black faces! How f***ing stupid! 3) All of this hoopla about seeing papers, TR2's, quota's, etc etc. What people REALLY need to see is the corporate papers of the Safari Companies. See "WHO" the partners "REALLY" are. Many would be shocked to see "WHO" some do business with. If you want to help Zim, know who your company's "black partner" is, THEY ALL HAVE THEM! Know your's BEFORE you book. Yes, THE REAL STORY has NOTHING to do with a 13 year old lion named Cecil whom no one but a handful had heard of before July 2015 and would have died of natural causes in a couple of years anyway, but,,, ,,,THE REAL STORY should have been the scaly undercurrent that flows fluently throughout the hunting industry in Zim headed by RACIST BLACK Mugabe affiliated THUGS, the WHITE TRASH that do business with them, and "quota-transfer" that fuels the decimation of game in the once great hunting fields of Zimbabwe.
