A fellow on a British custom motorcycle site has made an empassioned and outraged exclamation against hunting after finding some pics of dead warthogs on the net. I've invited him over here to make his case. Lets hear what he has to say and then thoughtfully rebutt.

Why would you want to give an anti hunter another forum to voice his misguided views?

Aussie Dave, I think you will find any reply to anything he says to be copied and taken out of context, on some Animal rights forum. He will do what all the Antis do, when visiting a hunting site, they twist the words of hunters to look like they agree with anti's view.
I think, when you see your own words
re-structured on a anti's web-site, they will have their meaning completely opposite from what you actually said! This was not a good idea, friend! thumbdown

I have had a few messages sent to me from those who are against hunting.

Some were thoughtful, some were outraged, some were disgusted, and some were just plain funny.

Not long ago I had one from someone who apparently loves crocodiles!

He was absolutely mad that we shoot crocs!

He said he hopes one would swallow me alive one day.

I told him if that happens, I would send him a message so he can celebrate that occasion.

I hope he posts.

I love impassioned and outraged exclamations by bunny-loving bikers.

I would bet that 85% of anti hunters don't give a rat's ass about the animals that they claim to love. No, more often than not they had a relative or friend who was a hunter and they took the contrary view just to be a pain in the ass. That's usually how these things start.

He should "stick" to enjoying his bike and leave the pesky and dangerous animals to us. If he were to get upset after arguing his anti-hunting message, go out and run over a 'possum, causing himself to wreck and break himself up, we'd never forgive ourselves. Unlike mean, evil and hateful anti-hunters, we hunters love all wildlife and are friendly sorts. If he won't disrespect us, I won't ride motorcycles. Thanks, LDK

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

Perhaps the best way for an old hunter to go to the Happy Hunting Grounds is to be eaten by carnivores whilst hunting alone. That way, your protein is recycled, no funeral expenses, and , hopefully, no one would know which species got you so that revenge would not be undertaken. Not meant to be gruesome, just a possible happy-ending thought. Feeble old-age, nursing homes, Alzheimers'--now those are depressing thoughts. Smiler

I'm sure that you are correct: There is just no way that any thinking individual who has never been exposed to hunting can become and anti-hunter on the basis of reasoning. So your suggestion of the anti starting to become one just to be a pain in the ass has great merrit!

But do you know that they are mostly a pain in their own asses? Every argument that I've ever had with any anti-hunter was won by me - hands down!

I do pick my time to argue or just let it ride though. I agree with MacD37 - not a good idea to invite an anti to air his misguided views here. However, if he does venture, be sure that you will have my 100% support in the argument, or shall I say "words meaning twisting contest"?

In good hunting for us, and good fancy biking to the poor Brittish misguided soul!

After a few years of participation on forums, I have learned that:

One can cure:

Lack of knowledge – by instruction. Lack of skills – by practice. Lack of experience – by time doing it.

One cannot cure:

Stupidity – nothing helps! Anti hunting sentiments – nothing helps! Put-‘n-Take Outfitters – money rules!

My very long ago ancestors needed and loved to eat meat. Today I still hunt!

Don't you think that you would be able to make a rational arguement? I directed him over here because most of you seem passionate about what you do and reasonable and intelligent fellows.
