Where we get ready for another adventure with old friends.

Sadly, Walter, the best friend one could ever wish for, is no longer with us.

But, knowing him, I am sure he wishes us all to have as much fun as we usually do.

These are our own home made tse tse fly repellents.

Works better than anything we have tried.

The target I have shot a few weeks ago sighting in my rifles with the new batch of ammo.

Both these rifles have been shooting consistently well right from the start, and continue to do so now.

They do compliment out NO MISS ammo! clap

Again, all home made, one at a time.

This year’s hunt is going to be EPIC! The reports you send throughout this year’s hunt will be ‘must reading’ for everyone. Alan’s new area is pretty special and I’m really looking forward to seeing what you and the gang turn up.

Please keep that tse-tse fly concoction away from your primers!

Wishing you all the best for your upcoming safari.

I still put 50 primers in my hand and fill the priming tube by hand one at a time!

Some complain I will damage them.

Never happened.

This year two friends who have been with us on safari before are joining us.

Chris from Canada, and Tony from Australia.

I do hope he manages to get himself the right way up.

Both have shared a tent with Walter, and I am sure they will be telling each other all sorts of stories about him.

Thankyou for the heads up Saeed.
It's one of my annual highlights to look forward to your hunt reports. I'm sure everybody will have a great time and maybe perform a prank or two in memory of Walter.

Hope you guys all have a great trip Saeed. It is looking like I will never get a crack at going to Tanzania, so it is great to be able to live vicariously through your trips and all of the super updates and fantastic photos you post for all of us.

Walter's passing was sad news, but you guys had many great years together and he will be with you in spirit. tu2

Saeed,

I seated a primer upside down once, then had to figure what to do with it. I think I killed it before driving it out, but can't recall the details. Nothing bad happened.

Saeed,
My partner and I are very envious!! DLS is in Alan's new camp now and we should have reports soon!! We were supposed to follow your hunt...but didn't get our "STUFF" together!!... surrounding road transfers vs boat, vs charters!! Too new to know yet!!

As you know, this area is formerly Raoul Ramoni's old area, and a noted Garden of Eden!! It is amusing he used to be proud to flaunt he had "the most expensive safaris in Africa!!"
Wishing you the Best in Alan's new concession... and GOOD LUCK!!

The hunt preparation is always fun for me. The loading and inspecting of all the ammunition, laying out the hunting clothes the spray with Permethrin. Dusting off the big gun case.

Have fun, we'll all be eagerly waiting for the daily reports.

Saeed,

Have a great hunt. I know you'll miss Walter, but he'll be there.

I used to worry about tsetses, but this year, I resolved to just not use any repellant and tough it out. It really wasn't that bad -- at least most of the time -- and offset the stink and oiliness of the repellant. Don't think I'll use repellant again -- I'll probably die of some dreaded insect borne disease.

The crew over there will miss Walter too.

One of his trick was to put a farting machine in the back of his trousers, passes me the remote, and ask each one to pull his hands.

Apparently the harder one pulls, the louder the fart!

He has the whole camp in fits, telling those who did not get a loud one they are useless!

The fondly call him BABO!
