Are there any import brokers ( I guess thats the term) in the Houston, Texas area that you could recomend for shipping trophys from SA. And does anyone have recommendations for a tannery in the same area? By trophys I mean cured hides and capes. Thanks

I use ABX Logistics to clear my trophies. I'm in Australia at the moment, but you should be able to look them up.

Hunter Formerly Known As Texas Hunter and I both used ABX. Our trophies are still being cleared for final shipment through to Brush Country Taxidermy. But so far so good . . . Mike

Howdy, All above are correct. ABX is a good broker to use here in Houston. You will want to Contact them at 281-449-0892 and ask to speak with Lynnete Lily. She will get you taken care of. For services after that I would recomend Tri-state Taxidermy 713-465-7388. Good luck.

ABX will use Conroe Taxidermy. The Taxidermy is next door, I believe, to Texas Best Stretch Tannery. Steve "He wins the most, who honour saves. Success is not the test." I used ABX in route to Jerry Huffaker and they were great. ____________________________________________ "Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life." Terry Pratchett.

Coppersmith now has an office in Houston and are clearing my tusks through to Brush Country. They have handled several safaris for me and have always done a good job. As far as tanning leather, not what the taxidermist will do for your mounts, Oasis in RSA has a fine reputation and they are doing my elephant and ostrich hide. Any of yall pick up your packages from ABX directly and then take them to your taxidermist? Does this save any money? How difficult is it to get them from ABX? Thanks

ABX this year. | |||

I do not believe that you can pick them up directly. My understanding is that they have to be sent to a licensed or approved tannery so that they can be processed to ensure that no insects, etc. are in the shipment. Mike
