Although you do know some "500 club" members will not apperciate the .500 diameter and say the real 500 club starts at .510... tsk tsk.

Heh, loaded rounds... I need the yak for the brass order first. I do not see that happening for a few months unless I can get some folks in on the action there. I still need the yak for the smithing...

Ed said he would make some brass but lets see how many here might want some. Anyone here interested in headstamped 500 KILL ALL brass???

Gixx...How many pieces of brass do you have? a used 500 S&W pro hunter would be the cheapest entry I think.

PS I would love to see pics of the knives Smiler

I still owe Ed money, don't I? I have about 20 pieces or so of the 375 brass, I have been meaning to get another bag of the stuff for a rainy day anyhow. We had mentioned earlier that it will be about $700 for 300 pieces just as a ballpark. It has taken this long to get this far anyhting faster than the current production speed would be almost inappropriate!!!hehe Big Grin

Was still plugging along on this project, ran into a problem this week. I got a reply back from Qual Cart for the brass run, and for 500 pieces is is gonna be $1800 with shipping! That works out to be around $3.60 apiece. I need other folks to go in on this or else the project is dead. I have one more person comitted so far, I dunno. Anybody have any ideas or input?

The price seems to have gone up. I dont blame him since he is the only guy willing to do this kind of thing and we are talking headstamped brass and the tooling involved it is a good deal.

Is there anyone else who would want this for the 500 Kill All or another wildcat on the basic belted rum?

10 people getting 50 pieces would bring the bill down to $180 obviously.

Calling all wildcatters!!! wave

Make carts that have not been made before!!!

This is an entirely new case to play with!!!

Ed can if we ask him nicely to make unstamped brass.

500 Nitro, 500 KILL ALL
Can fit in a winmag or rum action

Jeffe I totally understand what you are sayin. I was not implying that I was looking for a freebie or anything like that. Just some more takers to lighten the load. If nobody else wants to jump in then maybe I need to post up the reamer and dies for sale so somebody with more money to spend on rifles can really use it.

Think seriously about a .500 bullet, though no one makes DGR bullets for it...

here's what a Rigby based 500 AR looks like

The Rigby base, standard length action, .510"does everything that factory Jeffrey, Gibbs, and 500 NE do. It's a 7000 foot-pound cartridge.

Looking back after a decade it is still the best thing that can be done to a Ruger Hawkeye. 500 Accurate Reloading Nyati.

(The 500 AR Nyati uses a .255" parallel freebore throat rather than the first trial 1.25"freebore.)

The 500 Accrel is one of the best modern big bore carts imho (Not just wildcats). RIP has a .500" similar one iirc and that is exciting for lighter bullet choices. The 500 Kill All has an advantage in getting the rifle to feed if you have a RUM donor gun. It is easier to go the route that Michael458 went and headspace off the extractor.
