You're not alone Butch. If I recall correctly, I knocked my 7th period math teacher on his ass and hitch hiked into town to see the Marine Corps recruiter. Neither move was particularly scholarly, but I'm working through it. Big Grin

The stock market is about to close and with it we will start to select the winning number. If the unit digit( the one to the left of the decimal point) on the Dow Jones average today is a 1 or a 5, then the set of numbers from 1 to 100 is selected and the rest can go home. If it is a 2 or a 6 then the second set of numbers from 101 to 200 is selected, and if it is is a 3 or a 7 , then it is the third, 201 to 300 and lastly if it is a 4 or an 8, it is 301 to 400. If it is a 0 or a 9 then we have to go another day. Good luck

Gun Control - A theory espoused by some monumentally stupid people; who claim to believe, against all logic and common sense, that a violent predator who ignores the laws prohibiting them from robbing, raping, kidnapping, torturing and killing their fellow human beings will obey a law telling them that they cannot own a gun.

Mike,
Congratulations. I just got home from a one day whirlwind trip to Sacramento and back. I will contact you and make arrangements. I want to thank everyone who has helped with the rifle and all those who have contributed. It has been a long journey but worth every minute. Now Monika has some much needed funds and Mike has a great new rifle he can cherish for a long time. Hard to beat that outcome.

THANK YOU to the artisans who committed their care for Maurice and Monika Ottmar into a genuine work of art and most fitting remembrance. We should proud to be part of a community whose members do such things from time to time!

To have been so fortunate today simply takes my breath away. I do not part with treasures and memories easily. This rifle will indeed become an heirloom. Like my Grandfather's Win 94 it will go to one of my sons ... who have already expressed their awe at the lovely work. (I swear I could hear the "Wow and whoop" from the youngest and he is in Afghanistan!)

Again, THANK YOU to all involved ... makers and members.

Fw: Re: C'mmoooooonnnnnn Seven !!!

Congratulations, Mike!!!

It's hard for me not to be inclined to think that the close of the DJIA on the 7th would providentially be the number SEVEN.

While there are more weighty matters to bring to the throne of the Almighty, I have to admit that my wife and I did send up a request for Doctor Mike regarding this lovely work of art.

I would have done my own supplication, but the Good Book specifies that "...The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." [James 5:16, TNIV] -So, I asked my wife to intercede regarding this exciting event.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in EVERYTHING, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." [Philippians 4:6]

Peace and blessings to y'all. Enjoy your new baby, Mr Mike!

I have had the pleasure of speaking to Mike on the phone as he packed to return from a pig hunt in Texas.

To say he was happy is an incredible understatement. He tells me this rifle will be a family heirloom to be passed down and that does my heart good.

I know this rifle has found a special home. The whole long process has been a lot of work for a number of people, but the rewards have been just wonderful.
