new 94 timber scout 450 marlin takedown, what can we do with it?

if you saw the new guns and ammo you saw the new 450 marlin takedown by winchester...

question is what sort of alchemy can be done on it...i am thinking the 50 alaskan but cheeper than the wild west guns product i assume...or maybe leave it as is. hmmmm...375 alaskan? anyway good for winchester for stealing the idea...some might think it crazy but how hard would it be to rechamber for the 45-70? i have a guide gun but the takedown would pack nice in a backpack and i would save money on reloading since i already have the 45-70 stuff. as a wise person once said "it is a fine line between a hobby and mental illness"

BS,
in that config, the proper answer is "LEAVE IT AS IS" ..

the 450 marlin is nothing but the 458 2" loaded "down" to levergun max ... and it is also nothing but the 45/70 loaded to levergun max, but with a belt.

have 2 45s (45/70 and 450 marlin) is no where NEAR having a mental illness ... not even in the sanitarium's parking lot!!

let's be honest, if you are thinking of dropping $1200 on the base gun, then some money for custom work ... let's just be nice and call it a $2000 gun... is $35 bucks for dies and $60 for 100 rounds actually signifigant in comparison to the rest of the package.

*I* want a trapper in 45LC takedown!!

I'm under the impression that the 94 is maxed out with the 450 Marlin rim diameter, and the 45/70 rim is too large. Yes/no?

I just wish winchester would make the 1886 replica's a standard thing those 1886 actions are TWICE the gun a 94 action is............................my 1886 that took so long to get to oz is now a 50-110 and I kind of would like another one to keep as 45/70 as there just so nice !!

Was in the recent issue. NO idea of prices or when it would be avaliable in 06. It is also supposed to come with a rail scount scope mount and ghost sights. Install a 2 or 4 x scout scope on Leupolds QR rings! Most smiths charge about $550 to convert a Marlin to take down. So buying a stainless guide gun (mine cost $460 this April) and you can have a stainless take down for a littlee over a grand. If Winchester offers the take down 450 and it sells for under $800 they will have a sure winner on there hands. Even though I am a fan of the 45-70 the 450 will bascially do everything that it can. What a great rifle to take on a fly in hunt. Easy to pack!

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.
