heh.. what frank said....

boomstick, are you asking which standard, which mag, or which HH based, or short HH based action?

Depending on how short, the 98 CAN (not recommended) do it, as that's the case head for the 585 nyati

it WILL be a singlestack in anything but an enfield, ruger 77mk2, or cz550 of the "normal" actions

reeeeeeaaaaaalllllllyyyyy Big Grin

jeffeosso...

i know you are up to your goggles right now but that sounds like a fun future project to have a 2.5-ish inch gibbs case pooping out heavy 510 bullets...call it the 510 o.m.g! (510 oh my god) or 510w.s.(weapon smith) or 510 s.t.c.(you know) or 510-k.b. (ka-boom!)

i found out yesterday according to rip that a necked up lapua case to 458 end up to be 2.66" in length with no other changes but the necking up!...that is 300 win mag(ish) length so with not too many alterations (i am guessing) turning a 300 win mag into a 458 lapua (er i mean 458 tembo) is possible Eeker (2450 fps with 500 grainers)

(the question for us lever nuts is would it work in a blr?)

anyways keep in the moment and glad the 470 will go boom today!

hats off to you jeff

there would be nothing to stop you from doing two lengths, 2.5"ish and a 2.85" case. 510 ka-boom (510-k.b.) or 510 ka-boom magnum (510-k.b.m.) you get the picture... Wink

also a 470 version so you could get 275 gr. barnes x pistol bullets all the wat to heavy 600 grainers Big Grin
