before you shot-counters start in, you must all realize Cal is a senior member here. He was actually born in early 1919. His American Father was a member of the Lafayette Escadrille, and his French Mother was a Red Cross nurse. They met in a convalescent ward at a hospital in Marney, France, while he was recovering from wounds suffered when his Spad was shot down.

Good Day.
Idaho. I was born in 1920, not 1919. Please don't make me older than I am (or look).
Regards from Alaska,
Cal

Cal,
Your web-site tells us you graduated from High School in 1973. Must be a record!! A 53 yo Senior in High School!! You really look more like folks born about 1955 do. Cool
Enjoyed the video.

From the looks of it you have lived a long, varied, and fantastic life that many here, including me, could only dream to live. Congratulations!

jsl: No, he is not 90. Rich and Cal are having us on. Cool
Good hunt, Cal. It is amazing the punishment those buffalo can take. Sure hope to hunt them some day.

Thank God you were using the 600 and not some small bore such as a 375! He would've never went down.
shocker

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.
