I like the way this shotgun is designed and its look. Does anyone own and shoot the replica made by Norinco? I planned to use one in SASS competition but finally had no time to start this new activity when I was already in IPSC. Comments welcome.

Safari Kid has one. They make great slug guns with a replacement rifle barrel.

I love my 1887 repro.
I'm still playing with it, trying to get smoother before I shoot it in SASS matches. The cool points are worth it! Smiler

Edmmundo!

This is way too much gun for you! These big guns are for merrycans only. You should stick to one of those FN 5.7mm toe-poppers and leave the big stuff to us.

I had some play with the Norinco, it was not my favorite but now the Chiappa is available and it is a nicely made shotgun in a different class.

Enjoy the movies.

Since there is now a french chapter of SASS being officially created, I may switch to it from IPSC.

I have an original I loved shooting in Cowboy matches along with an original Colt and original '73.
Replicas help save the original values but there is nothing like shooting an original.

There are some "Blems" out there somewhere with a cast reciever and are not as strong as the ones with the forged reciever. Both made in China, I think by the same company.( Didn't think it was Norinco though)

The forged guns have been proof tested up to 40 or 45,000(?) psi by White Labs with no damage to the gun.
I read somewhere that the original Winchester made guns are really strong also, but didn't see a pressure limit for them.

I have one of the forged replicas and really like it. The only thing that isn't perfect on mine is the forend wood creeps forward when shooting it.
I'd like to see them made with a screw in choke tube that would be interchangeable with one of the American brands. Then we could use rifled choke tubes, X-Full Turkey or whatever.

I've seen some of the originals on Gun Broker that are take down models. That could be cool.
