Hello

I just picked up a 416 Ruger built on the BLR by Wild West Guns in Anchorage, AK.

I am very pleased with this rifle. I ran some test loads today. The 300gr TSX shot 1/2" @ 100yds with a vel of 2750fps. I am going to try and take an elk with it this month.

I'm not a little bit jealous, I'm a LOT jealous! Is that the wood that came on the rifle? Much nicer than what is on my BLR in .450 Marlin.

It is the wood that came on the rifle as a 300 win.

Hey come to my range and shoot it!

Coloradoyaler,

Very nice! How long is the barrel and it looks like a heavy contour?

Again, she's a beaut!

Coloradoyaler,
Speaking of coming to your range, I was in your area last month hunting elk. I flew into Colorado Springs and hunted in the eastern plains on the Huerfano River. It was dry and tough hunting, but this bull finally made his last mistake and gave me a shot:

Nice Bull indeed! What caliber did you shoot it with?

Mike

I am actually from Bradford. I will be there in Nov for a deer hunt. I'll be bringing the 416 Ruger to possibly wac a boar in lower PA.

Mark

I worked in Bradford for years at Forest Oil. Then with them in Denver. Good luck in the big woods!

Mikelravy,
My .405 is tied up with pressure testing handloads, so I had to take the .338 Win Mag. The 1895 .405 would have done the job though, because we bumped him from his bed and I had to use a "Texas Heart Shot " as he ran directly away from me.

Great! But now you need to go get another one with your 405 when you get it lined out. Good luck!
