That was about as clean and quick a kill as a man can make on critter that size using a heart lung shot. the first round was perfect placement. You can tell by the way that camel hunched up and by the broken off side shoulder.

Anyone who didn't think that was perfect is a non experienced wanker and probably a PETA member to boot. But he sure as hell isn't a hunter.

A good mate of mine has moved to WA, maybe next time I get out to visit him I'll get out for a camel hunt. Sounds like fun.
Nothing wrong with your shooting 350, 3 shots in 10 seconds hitting the mark is just fine and does nothing other than speed up the process.

I shot one while cull hunting with Old Bob Penfold a coupe years back. He was leaving eh scene quartering away. I happened to have a 416 and passed one thru the heart and broke the off side shoulder. He went end over end and Penfold said he'd never seen one knocked flat that he had always recomended a follow up even with a good hit.

As far as mounting one; They are an odd looking creature and thus make a unique mount. The problem is the heat, thickness of the skin and size of the animal. Unlike Africa you don't have a whole staff to attend to late hours in the skinning and salting shed. So if you are cull hunting you will loose a day tending to your cape. Also many of the rough old bulls we saw were terribly scarred up and relatively hairless. The skull makes a unique trophy with its unique shape and being toothy with 4 big canines. "Which explains the scars they render upon each other".

My next time I'll definately shoot another one. Maybe even be particular and trophy hunt them and I would take the time to cape, prep and ship it just for the conversations it would invite.

Bolt action: Having culled a few camels, it is not unusual for them to take a few seconds to collapse. Short of a CNS or spine hit, they take a while to drop.
Before you run off at the mouth again, and confirm for the rest of us what a tool you are, I was using a 375H&H, which most would regard as an adequate caliber for the task.
Perhaps you should stick to pulling the wings off of flies...
