On November 9th-13th I will be hunting a private farm in Butler county KY for hopefully a 150 inch or better whitetail buck. The 9th will be opening day of KY rifle season and dead center of their primary rut. Last year, the world record velvet buck was taken not far from this farm. I can invite one other hunter only. Cost is $1,500 (5 days). I will be scouting during the next few months. It is surrounded by about 600 acres of cropland. There will be no other hunters on this farm; we will be the only two hunting it. It holds good hardwoods, thickets and water (my personal choice when hunting the rut and you are surrounded by open cropland). This is a non guided hunt. We will stay in a local hotel and feed ourselves. License/tags are not included but are very reasonable. Non-resident $130 (for deer) and deer permit ($60). There is no draw; both are over the counter. This is a trophy hunt, the owner asks we not shoot immature bucks. If you just want a meat hunt, I can help you elsewhere. This particular farm is only 93 acres, but has a creek bottom the bucks use during the rut to push does to and from the crop fields that surround it. It is a natural funnel and is perfect for two hunters. Some very big bucks live in this area. I could hunt some of the larger farms but prefer to stay on this one. I'll be going up the end of this month to scout and pick stand locations. This will be the first gun hunt.

I'd be all over this if I was not going to Saskatchewan about the same time.

chuck, look at next year. I have access to much larger properties if that's what your looking for in KY, TN and OH, but just FYI; out of the 176 Whitetails I have taken, most were killed on 5 acres. Location is everything with deer. Good luck in the great white north! LDK

Some of last years deer on trail cam (live ones lived through the season; this year they are on the hit list). Velvet buck (2012; world record velvet buck) was taken not far from one of the farms available to hunt this year. This will be the first gun hunt. Landowner still has a few spots left on the larger farms. Only 3 hunters per farm. Archery dates available. Check out this 190 inch buck taken by a lady archer. LDK

Just added another farm: 352 acres that sits just off the Green river and is surrounded by 2000 acres of crops. Historically, it should be one of the best big buck areas the outfitter has ever leased. It is now available for archery or gun. LDK
