Pricewise that is more reasonable than any hunt in the US.

You might want to state what the hunt is in US $. Most of us do not know what a Swedish kronor is to American money.

I base my trophyfees on the Swedish hunting federation messuring guidelines. And if the hunter and I asses that it is a medalbull we can take the trophy to a professional messurer. If it is a medalbull the Swedish hunting federation give the hunter a bronse silver or goldmedal.
For example: The things you messure are how wide and high, how many points and the symmetri of the antlers. There are more parameters to include in the messurements. To shoot a goldbull is very unusual. I see a medalbull every other year.
Bronse 250 - 274,9 points
Silver 275 - 299,9 points
Gold 300 - > points
Excuse my english. Hope you understand it anyway Smiler

swenative,

My assumption would be that basically everyone that is in at least in fair physical condition will have a shooting opportunity. Correct?

Hi Mark! I never garantee shooting opportunetys.
Because i´v learned that no matter how skilled hunter you are, you allways need luck to succed with a hunt. You know-weather conditions etc. With all respect,I guess that you know that to.
Good physical condition is as you wrote, a help to succed. I shoot 2 bulls every year, but sometimes I most visit the mountains moore than two times to get them. I´ve only been guiding for 3 years. During theese three years all my clients have had a shooting opportunity.

$6250 about USD for a mid range bull is very fair. Especially with the sliding trophy scale.

I believe that a good mature palmated European Moose is one of the hårdest trophies to hunt and bag World wide. The offer and success ratio Swenative is posting is second to none. and with the mix of fixed costs and trophy fee it is a great deal.

swenative,

Thanks for the answer. I was only looking for your experience to date. I agree to guarantee anything in hunting is a fools errand.

Hi Mark!
Yes you are right about that. the hunters don´t need to be an athletic to hunt with me on this arrangement. Since I started the guided hunts I hunt mostley close to the camp. I call in the early mornings and afternoons. If the client wants to take a nap in the middle of the day I normally go for a longer "spottinghike" in the meantime.

I went on this hunt with Joachim last September (2014.) That's my picture labeled (very accurately!) "Happy hunter 2014". I posted a pretty long trip report in the European Big Game Hunting forum:

Trip Report

I had a great time and, in fact, I'm very tempted to go again!

Regarding a few of the questions asked above -
The bull that I shot was close to bronze medal status, but not so close that we had it officially measured. The 12-point rack is 44" wide.

How athletic do you need to be? I'd guess individuals' definitions of athletic vary widely, but I don't think anyone would define me as being athletic - I work at a desk, carry too much weight around, and have no exercise program besides riding my bike to work. It would have been better if I'd been fitter because there is a lot of walking up and down the mountains and we could have covered more ground. But, I guess I was fit enough. I walked in, but just had to carry a day pack because Joachim brought the rest of my gear by ATV.

Regarding currency conversion, yes, Google works quite well. It helps if you know the 3 letter code for the currency in question. For example, to find the value of 1000 Swedish kronor in US dollars, just type: "Convert 1000 sek to usd"

Currency converter online. You can type in the name of the country and it will auto fill as you type.
