U.S. Soldier just redeployed from a 1-year tour overseas. Looking for a quality Bowhunt (prefer Mule Deer) and was wondering if anyone might have openings. I'm available the month of October - except 15-23 OCT (vacation with my wife). Don't know what would be the best time -- figured late October would be best for the moon. Thanks, Ken | ||

Ken, I don't have anything for you off the top of my head that would be good for muleys that early, but I just wanted to say thank you for serving! You may consider giving Aaron Neilson a call to see what he's got. I know his rifle hunts start on Oct. 22 so he may not be able to do it, but he's got some giant muleys in Eastern Colorado so it's worth checking out. If you need his contact info, let me know. I just left Aaron. He is in fact antelope hunting in CO. You will need a landowner tag if any are available. I'll see if I can reach him or one of the guys in about 30 mins. They will be scouting until dark. Sorry, but we have nothing available in October 2011. Nov/Dec 2011 would be possible, but October just won't work for us. We have Muzzleloader season next week, and rifle is open Oct. 22nd. Thanks David/Aaron, Sorry that it won't work with GHR for October. Oh well -- still looking for a hunt before I have to report to my next duty station. Anyone have a quality bowhunt available for the end of October? Still favor Mule Deer, but am open to other options. Thanks. | |||

Ken - sorry man, wish we could make it work. Patrick, our head guide just about 2 hrs ago had his bowhunter on a 205" - 210" muley! He was bedded at 45 yards, then a smaller buck started butting horns with him, he got up, and they both walked directly at Patrick and the hunter, damn. They just could not move to draw, finally at 20 yards they had to try, but the big buck spooked before the hunter got fully drawn and shot  Bowhunting man, it can be tough. I love guiding the big deer in eastern Colorado with bow hunters, but sometimes it frustrating. obviously with a muzzleloader/rifle, the deer was finished. Hope you find something, and we will do your bow hunt some other time. Good luck! | |||
