Greg BrownleeCancellation Kafue Lion - SOLD (LEOPARD HUNT ADDED)
Hunt sold.Outfitter: Greg Butler Safaris
Agent: Jeff C. Neal, Inc. (918-299-3580
www.jeffcnealinc.com )
Area: Sichafula GMA, Zambia
Dates: Any 18 days between September 14 - October 31, 2012
Greg Butler had a big cancellation in Zambia from a client who had his entire quota reserved. This hunt is nearly 60% off and includes the government fees for an 18 day hunt! This concession lies on the southern side of Kafue National Park and is one of only a handful of concessions in Zambia that has no villages in it. These hunts can be taken between September 15 and the end of October 2012. Because this client had the entire quota reserved for this year, there has not been another hunter in the concession all year long. You will be the first hunter in, and the ONLY lion hunter in 2012 regardless of the outcome of this safari!
This will be the only lion taken in this concession in 2012. The lion below was taken here in October 2011 on the 7th day of the safari, which was the only lion taken and the only lion hunter to hunt here last year. This cat was taken after passing on 4 other mature male cats.
Hunts are 18 days in length and are based out of tented camps in the center of the concession. This area is a great place for lion, but also excellent for big black sable bulls and roan. Hunters need to fly into Victoria Falls where they are picked up and driven to camp (included in the cost).
Generally the daily rates for this hunt are $45,000.00 plus $6,500.00 in government fees, but this hunt has been reduced to
$25,000.00 including the government fees That price includes daily rates for 18 days on a 1x1 basis, government concession fees, transfer to the area, meals, lodging.
Excluded are observers at $250/day, trophy fees for lion and other species desired (below), dip and pack and shipping of trophies (dependent on how many animals you take, likely $500-$1500) and gratuities to guides if warranted.
Trophy fees: Baboon - $120
Buffalo - $2,500
Bushpig $430
Duiker $350
Eland - $3,000
Greysbok - $500
Hartebeest $1,200
Impala - $400
Kudu - $2,300
Lion - $6,500
Oribi - $350
Roan - $4,500
Sable - $4,000
Warthog - $550
Wildebeest $1,350
Zebra - $1,000
LEOPARD, BUFFALO, SABLE, PLAINSGAME HUNT ADDED: 14 DAY $15,000.00 INCLUDING GOVERNMENT FEES
Same deal for a leopard, government fees and transport included. EXTRAS AND TROPHY FEES ARE ABOVE PLUS LEOPARD TROPHY FEE OF $450022 August 2012, 22:09
FrostbitGreg,
I see a Leopard in that one picture but do not see one listed on the trophy fees. Is there a Leopard on quota?
Cheers
Jim

Greg BrownleeThey do have a leopard on quota, but it wasn't on the list for this particular hunt. I can check and see what the upgrade cost will be if you'd like, though I know you just got home a few weeks ago!

Don't check for me Greg. I just wondered if you might have missed it in your ad that's all.
This is a screaming deal based on cost and if I didn't have to work for a living I'd probably go back and do it.
Cheers

JungleboyGreg,
What do they typically use as "lion bait" for this area? Seems like a great offer!

Jim,
Typically they use anything they shoot, whether it be sable, roan or buffalo. Without hippos you have to use whatever it takes!

I'll have to get back with you on that, it's a big concession though (probably in excess of 500,000 acres).

Safari2That is a heck of a "full bag" safari. I did not realize that Sichafula was producing like this..thought it was a " depleted area"..I may be thinking of Mulobezi GMA.
The big three plus sable & roan...dont see that very often these days.
Greg I am sure this will move quick.

DCS MemberI'm not a potential buyer, but the posts are confusing. If still available, please repost the details. Otherwise, it sounds like someone got a great deal.
