I searched the archives and found nothing lately on traveling with a Tuffpak. Are the airline (Emirates, SAA) charging oversize fees or are they considering it "Sports Equipment"? Thank in advance. Will

Have flown Emirates many times - last in 2015 - and never been charged for my TuffPak; nor have my hunting partners. It's always ben my position that any agent trying to charge "extra" fees for a gun case that must meet both government and airline regulations for the transport of firearms does not understand the intent of their own regulations. Flew Emirates last year. No problem at all with Tuffpak. Packed my Tuffpak to the hilt with boots, coats and heavy stuff, oh, rifle too. Never had a problem with SAA until they had the debacle about "only guns" in rifle case. I think that is over with now. Best regards, D. Nelson

I have one that Ive near worn out going to Africa, never questioned and never changed locks. The only thing I ever had happen was I called over the PH to report and open my case in Amsterdam for whatever reason, they looked and said OK..I had checked through from SLC to Dar Es Salaam.. The only issue I had in Dubai flying with a Tuffpak was that it was not recognized as a gun case and ended up on the luggage carousel since we were doing a multi day layover. I had to take it to the Dubai Airport Police office myself and that is not the normal operational procedure. It all worked out. ______________________ DRSS ______________________ Hunt Reports 2015 His & Her Leopards with Derek Littleton of Luwire Safaris - http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/2971090112 2015 Trophy Bull Elephant with CMS http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/1651069012 DIY Brooks Range Sheep Hunt 2013 - http://forums.accuratereloadin...901038191#9901038191 Zambia June/July 2012 with Andrew Baldry - Royal Kafue http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/7971064771 Zambia Sept 2010- Muchinga Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/4211096141 Namibia Sept 2010 - ARUB Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/6781076141
