File type trim die. "maybe" RCBS still does them, Vista Outdoors made them ditch a lot of the exotic & special order stuff. Try CH4-D or Redding......

I use a file trim die for my .577 and .600. Lyman trimmer with an electric drill up to .500. It's a good thing my 12, 10, 8, 4 bores don't stretch as I don't have anything to trim that large of a diameter. Of RCBS does not make the file trim die, maybe CH tool will. If you can't get either (CH is on a 2+ year backorder) you can gently place the cases in a lathe (prefer a 4-jaw check) and trim with a shapr cutter bit. Takes time and is a pain, but it can be done. I would to this for my bore rifles but, as mentioned, I don't get any stretching. Boomie saw my actual one, which works GREAT yep .. make a L-shaped bracket for a tailstop - measure from the chopsaw blade to the max lengh you want, add .5, and put a screw in that to set depth . i have had amazing consistency in length, you just rotate the case and chop a couple times another way, it have a friend with a lathe make some trim dies for you .. it's REALLY easy .. it's just 1"-14 thread, and there is two critical dimensions - the length and the diameter at the mouth, which should be about 0.001 smaller than fired cases. have him bore to that mouth diameter all the way through, then just bore till fits for the body.. you don't need a rim flange. then trim to length, thread it 1/14, and harden the top .. DO NOT TEMPER, only harden, and polish .. bang, press mounted trim dies... might take an hour of machine time, and a bit more for hardening .. myself, i'd like make it from o1 steel, as it machines great and gets hard enough opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? I was going to say use a lathe, but if you don't want to buy any tools, I can make a file trim die like Jeff described. Made lots of them.....

Well, I use a Wilson case trimmer for these. The cutter is custom made for me by a very kind and generous member of this forum. Works like a charm. For deburring I use a pipe inside and outside demurring tool. Also sent to me by a friend from the States. Non of the above gentlemen would accept payment for these priceless tools.
