If VG is banned, I don't think it's right. Despite our differences.
I understand that Saeed may do as he pleases but I am curious about the rational.

some piece of poor white trash who used his anonymity here to revile anyone who did not agree with him. Take the seven fighting words out of his vocabulary and he couldn't talk five seconds.
Some 14-year old kid posted a page of his insults and foul mouth and Saeed banned the kid for the comments. When he found that it was about 1% of VG's posts from this year, he banned the author instead and reinstated the kid. I figure anybody that liked him thinks pornography and pedophilia are really just adult entertainment, like the warning on the label says. No great loss, unless you like people calling you names, etc for posting an opinion they disagreed with.

VG where are you??? Living with saints is almost unbearable! some of us miss your muzzleflash, a good volley never went astray 2020 lefty
American people used to pay to see McEnroe be obnoctious.

VG was like watching the A-team, after all the gunfire, no one ever really got hurt.

When they went to stone a woman for adultery someone said words to this effect:
"LET HE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN IN LIFE, CAST THE FIRST STONE"

"Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment that you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, "Let me take the speck out of your eye," when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye."

Quite a few folks have been banned lately and IMO it is long past due.

These folks come here with personal attacks and foul typing and as a guest in the house of another think they're entitled to something.

It's one thing to disagree......we all do that but the style some have displayed is destructive to many.

Possibly a few more are on the list!

So it is now safe for those that don't like
.204 Ruger chamberings, and Remington rifles,
to post their opinions on these forums? clap

His profain comments won't be missed by this
forum reader, but occasionally he did post
interesting topics. It is unfortunate that
profanity, and name calling, had to creep into
his threads, when dissenting opinions were
posted, but that was as predictable as a
Montana sun rise.

So VG, you need a new name, a new IP, and a
new attitude, to contribute...Sounds fair to
me.

Well stated, Vapodog.

To me, it is one thing to joke, curse, and tell "nasties" among close friends in a small group - in privacy. Personally, I abhor seeing all that foulness put in print for the whole world to see, not to mention directing it at individuals that the poster most likely will never personally know.

Characters like VG that are allowed to post totally uncensored keeps a lot of good people from contributing. I would not answer or help someone asking for such if I knew I was going to be blasted with a barage of hate and foul language. I say good riddance to such.

Just my opinion.................

Woodjack,

1. the A-Team on TV was a fantasy.
2. it's obnoxious.
3. the biblical mis-quote you used is just that. The Bible simply says that you will be judged by the same set
of values you judge others by. The mis-quote you use, interestingly enough, is the same one homosexuals and
liberals to paint those of us who have a belief in God and some moral standards and values as intolerant.
So, if I do as the Bible commands and "..hate the sin but love the sinner..." I am in agreement with God, who
wants all to come to salvation but cannot be in the presence of sin. He loves us so much he gives all
of us the freedom to live our lives to suit us...or Him, and then allows us to suffer the consequences of our
actions at the time of our death.
4. the bottom line here is that VG made his bed, and is now being forced to sleep in it.

Vulgarity is never in fashion, neither are Internet Drive-bys.

While I think all internet forums should be to share info, opinions, and enjoy friendships, we do all need to be conscious of what we write, and our 'manners.' That said, I don't condone profanity or attacks on others.

I do think everyone deserves a chance to correct their mistakes. Who are we to judge.

We are ALL imperfect, but should strive to be our best and address whatever needs correcting when it offends others or causes harm.

We are human, and the rules of society and laws we create/enforce help keep a 'check and balance' so we can all co-exist, despite our differences in background, thought processes, and values.

I am FOR enforcing proper conduct, but let's be careful to judge others, as again, I know I am far from perfect and can always do better in areas of my life. I think be slow to judge, criticize, or make personal attacks, lest we lower ourselves to the 'sin' you speak of above.

As to being sinners, that we all are, and always will be. I appreciate an effort to ID an issue, and to resolve it. I am confident it will be handled, or has been, and I look forward to enjoying the many fine people on this forum and learning/sharing our experiences and knowledge.

Thanks for hearing my view. To all those who 'keep it clean' THANK YOU! I am sure I am not alone in the mutual respect.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but I sure do have one watching. Some of the language used had absolutely no point being in what is supposed to be a forum for like-minded people who enjoy hunting and the shooting sports. What is very disturbing to me is that each of us can bet our bottom dollar someone, somewhere, from the anti-column was and is reading this forum. It is essential to know your enemy and we, my friends, are their enemy. Can you imagine the image that was painted by VG through the use of his language to these antis. Like it or not, when we sign on in one of these forums we each become a representative of our sport. Having someone like that represent me sucked. Tom Purdom

Count me amoung those who think AR will be a better forum. One where folks who enjoy shooting, reloading, and hunting can talk and exchange information and ideas with less risk of the interaction degenerating into pointless bickering.

If so many of you are in agreement that VG should be gone, why did it take a 14 y.o. to do a mans job?, or should I say, why is it all those righteous adults who trump up now, could not bring themselves to do a boys job?

It seems substance is what ye talk about, but dont truelly hold oneself.

Chinese proverb: "One dog barks, all the rest bark at him."

And as one poster says below, If you didnt like VG, there was an easy sensible way to minimise the friction, DONT READ HIS POSTS & DONT REPLY TO HIS POSTS. surely theres enough other members here to engage with. I think its more about people who like stepping in dog crap just so they have something to complain about.

Well, in this very infamous thread on page 4, who do you think was first to start the abusive language like this

quote:
Varmintguy,
Man are you ever going to quit with that gay ass shit
long live the magical 204,
long live remington.
Get a life man and take that 204 ruger and shove it up your ass.

and on the very next post

quote:
I give the dumb ass solid info

before VG ever wrote a curse word. Followed shortly by

quote:
I see I'm not the only one tired of VarmintGuy's bullshit rants...............

Then VG got started but he was mild by comparison to this a little later

quote:
varmintguy, I may be a lot of things but stupid isn't one of them. My definition of stupid is a vomitous twit like you that doesn't know when to shut up. And thus, from my lips to your ears, "fuck you".

This is typical of the posts that I have followed, and I repeat, of the above quotes, none of them were VG's.

So where were these quotes in dreamstoban247's troublemaking post?

In my opinion there are a lot of posters who are just as guilty and I don't care because like I said, I do not come here to learn morals. Anyone who can not sift the good from the bad doesn't belong here.

Hello,
I believe many actually felt that VG was out of line, way out of line in fact, with his on going accounts of supposed shooting prowess and accomplishments, large inventories of firearms, and yes, the vile and nasty remarks upon someone correcting or disagreeing with him, but no one other than the actual owner has the privilege of cancelling an individual from the "scene." Take a look at his posting, probably his last one, on the Varmint section of the site. Something to do with varmints in Boise, ID.?? What is that all about???? Does that have anything to do with what this site is about??? I think not, but at least there is no gutter language as far as I could tell. Perhaps VG will return in different guise and take a lesson from all this and so much the better for all concerned.

7X57mm, you raise a good point. This is precisely the reason why Jim Zumbo created such a large shit storm. Zumbo, with the power of the press behind him, was in a position to hurt us and did, whereas Varmint Guy was just a foulmouthed anonymous poster on some gun forum. Chow is ready, gotta run...

"We" don't own or pay for this forum, and "we" don't ban anyone. Saeed owns and pays for this forum. As far as I am concerned, Saeed can ban whoever he wants to. If I/we don't like it, I/we can go elsewhere. Ya know, it's kinda like the sign often posted in establishments all across the the country, "We reserve the right to refuse to serve anyone."

Ain't my forum, ain't my job or my choice to run anyone off or keep anyone. And I don't come here to learn morals, either. Just sayin' it's a more pleasant place to be when folks ain't jumpin' down each other's throats all the time..whether they are using 4 letter words or 4 syllable words.

I come here to talk, learn, and exchange ideas. All of which are more pleasurable when done in an respectful adult manner.

For me, life's too short to sit around a campfire (either real or cyberspace) with arrogant guys who would rather pick a verbal fight and throw insults than enjoy the time together. The fewer of them there are here, the less trouble it is to avoid them.

Most of us have had a bad day where we might overreact and display poor taste to a particular post or poster. VG had a decade like that...and took pride in being a vulgar little man with no imagination and a limited vocabulary.
He may be lurking here enjoying his couple last days of infamy on the website...but he no longer has the ability to stir things up here...the worst punishment for a yapper like that.

Bye-bye VG

Small is the person who allows someone else the control to ruin their entire day, or their "fun" on internet forums. I remember years ago when I started looking at this forum there was a poster named "assclown", I didn't like his comments, so I quit reading his posts and replies, and I never lost any sleep over it.

I don't need the ignore button to filter out whats appropriate nor do I need the governments help, I can figure out what to read and skip myself. But I imagine it could be useful for those who can't.

Pretty much my sentiments. All too often I think a lot of people take themselves way too serious whilst hiding behind a keyboard. I don't need anyone to 'filter or ignore' for me....I got that handled.

If your most useful conversation requires a mouthful of trash its not likely I will listen to any of it.

I for one like VG I liked his posts also its sad to see him go, I never found his language to be offensive, I think that one thread about the 204 of which I was the starter ruffled some feathers it was over a year ago, I don't see why a post that is over a year old should be a factor here, there is alot worse stuff that is said by people around here actually most of those quotes are somewhat mild especially if you spend much time in the political forum.

The problem I have with all this is that I believe that there were a lot of participants in those ranting threads, and they all seemed to be enjoying themselves! They were stuck in their own little corner and not bothering anyone who did not want to participate (me for one) and VG was responding in kind. The participants seemed to be just venting a lot and they were all using vulgarities.

Until some do gooder decided to step in spoil their fun. What's gonna happen later, are the hunters on his lease going to be scared to tell dirty jokes for fear they'll get kicked off the lease?

There was always the choice for each of us to ignore those posts, to participate in them or to read them and glean what little knowledge was there and laugh at the epithets.

This place is a little less interesting now that even the choice to read or not has been taken away.

Maybe what people should teach their kids is

I just got back from spending a month in Cambodia and find out that a lot of people have been banned since I was last here.

ErikD
Johann
VG
Malm
Poletax

many others.

I heard Jeffeosso was also told to go sit in the corner for behaving like a twit.

The trouble with banning those you don't agree with is there is never an end. The standards just keep getting stricter and stricter.

Saeed and Don tell us to just use the ignore button. Easy enough. Until you put Saeed or Don on ignore and get banned for that.

The thing I find amazing is all of the guys jumping on VG now that he is gone. Where were your testicles when he was here? They must have been in the gunsafe being protected from theft.

Seems like a child stole them anyway. rotflmo

I have a feeling VD will be allowed back, but I don't know if he will want to come back.
