Kind of seems like an expensive way to get a 416 Ruger you can't find ammo for.

Neat idea if we didn't have the 416 Ruger.

not that I am aware of --

as you can make x64 cases from turning down HH cases, the results would be very close to a 400HH -- not exactly a 416 rem, due to taper and capacity -

so, it would be an easy rework a 3006 or 7 rem mag to this config, a bit of work to make reamers, dies, and brass, and wind up with a 416 that has been matched ...

sort of like turning the belt off a 416 rem, so to speak

A chap on another forum asked about it and I recommended he ask here. Said he had no desire, so I asked.

Thanks for the info gents. I'll pass it along.

Yes until you get to Fairbanks or Windhoek with no ammo.

that's more or less entirely irrelevant in the WILDCAT forum...

You know, where we discuss wildcats -- not where we discuss piss poor planning for a trip. btw, i do firmly believe that EVERY case of gun-but-no-ammo could have been avoided by better planning

my 416 AccRel is obviated by the 416 ruger - that's cool ... in fact, somewhat complementary .. this case, as presented, wouldn't make a ruger equal -- it would make about a 400hh

9,3x64 is smaller a than 375hh which is smaller than a 416 rem which is smaller than a 416 ruger, which is smaller than a 416 Accrel ....

without bothering to do the math, its going to be larger than a 416 taylor, and smaller than a 416 remington ...

boomie asked me to neck up a x64 case to 416. Wasn't much of a shoulder.

The chap that asked about it lives in Sweden and RUM brass is apparently non-existent. Says he has shit piles of Brenneke brass and was curious about doing such.
