Has anyone necked up the Ruger 375 case to 416?
Has there been any talk of Ruger bringing out a 416 on this case?

What a waste of a good case when they could have gone with the 404 Ruger.

i think the same thing about the 400...

at least you could rebore a 416 to 423...
fire form and you are off!

I'm just waiting for a 40+ Ruger and I know that if they legitimize a 416 they won't build a 423. Which is a crime IMHO. I've got a M77 MKII in 7 mag just waiting to be rebarreled and I'd much rather buy a .423 barrel than a .416.

The 416 Ruger will forever be compared to the the bigger 416 Remington and it will always take second place.

If Ruger goes to the 423 bore the only competition is from the Jeffrey where the shorter case and higher pressure will compare much more favorably.

the 400 will be the most versatile...

ream out a 423 barrel with the 375 ruger reamer and do a seperate neck/throat reamer and throw it on the ruger and fireform ruger brass.

subtle hint of things to come...Ruger already makes a .416" barrel.

Dakota Arms has a .423 Dakota on a shortened .416 Rigby case. The case is a little over 2.46" and holds 110.0-grains of water (full to case mouth).

bad design imho...416 ruger will be the best factory big bore since the 404 jeffery.

I have done quite a few of Mr. Ken Waters 416 Express [the 350 RM necked to 416] with no complaints yet. Easy to load for and powerful enough for about anything I`d ever hope to meet!

Hawkeye,
I have a m-98 mauser in 416/375 Ruger that I just finished...I have it for sale at $1000.

It has a Lothar Walther barrel, Talley bolt, D&T and hand fitted Talley bases, with Talley slide on peep sight. NECG adjustable front sight (gold faced partridge), Timney trigger, modified Mauser bottom metal..

I am also building a 404/375 Ruger but it will be sometime before its completed..
