Bwana-be,
The 450/110 cartridge is based on the 50/110 Win. necked down to 45 cal. The rifle was built by Dave Clay in Arlington, TX. Load development was done by Tim Sundles owner of Buffalo Bore Ammo. Tim's max load of RL15 yielded 2430 fps with a 420 grain hard cast bullet out of a 22 inch barrel. My goal is to work up a load with a 450-460 grain bullet at 2250 fps or if I can find a 480 grain flat nose maybe 2150 with that bullet. Basically the rifle is a .458 win in a light handy lever action.

I will be getting pressure tested loads this summer as soon as RSI starts shipping their pressure trace units.

My Rifle is a new procuction Winchester/Mirkou Extra-lite weight. It has a

22 inch barrel
Full length mag tube (6 rounds plus one in chamber)
Reinforced stock and mag tube hanger
Bake on polymer finish
removeable muzzle brake (Will be removed except when shooting over a bench cause I think muzzle brakes are ugly)
Ashley ghost ring sights
Scout scope mount
Kick-eze pad
Weighs 9 pounds with a full mag
40 inches long with brake removed.

Gonna take to Africa when I get a chance. I would be real cool to kill a buff with a true cowboy gun.

Jeff

I load two cases for the same rifle.

25-7mm Mag
25-264 Mag

Only difference is the 7mm cases are outside necked turned before sizing.

The 264 cases are inside reamed after sizing.

I ain't a wildcatter. I'm just a guy who buys the stuff too weird for anybody else cheap.

That accounts for 6.5 Roberts and the .25-35 Brown Improved. Also accounts for the long obsolete 8x72 JR Sauer. Also will be to blame for whatever I rechamber my Stevens 44 in .25 rf to. Likely to be just the .25-20 WCF with .253 cast bullets, but might be one of the .25 Hornets.

My .257 AI and the .35 Whelen I beat the factory to were my fault.

And then there's the factory mistake I corrected. When H&R went bust back in the 80's, I ordered a Handi in .357 Max. Invoice said Max. Box said Max. Barrel and chamber said Mag. So I fixed it.

All you guys really should submit your wildcat case dimensions and stories (parent case, typical performance, forming steps, etc) to AmmoGuide. It would save a lot of future questions on them.

http://www.calweb.com/~haas/ammoguide/index.html
Run "Cartridge Creator" and just follow directions.

243 Win AI
257 Rob AI
7x57 AI
And one I have never seen here
is the 375/338 Win.

We shot the 375/338 and the 375 HH side by side
the same day thru the chronograph. The velocities
on five different bullets were within 10 to 25 FS
with 5 Gr less RLl 15 in the 375/338.very accurate.

It is a 22-250 Ackley Improved - built on a custom Tikka action, Border stainless Match Barrel - 1 in 8 twist seated in a Mcmillan Sako Varmint stock.
It loves 75 g A Max over 38.5 g 4831sc.

My first wildcat was a Mc gowen barreled action
22 varminter-------about 1962

Next and I thought I was first and may have been
6.5 x.284 ---by ackley 1966

The third also thought original
6m/m x.270 improved -----Fred Barnes and I 1967
It was suppose to be 6m/m 06 Imp. but the reamer went in about .050" to deep. I think it was a Ancient Age mistake or maybe Golden Wedding.

2ea. 8m/m 06s

7m/m x 41, .308 x41, 9m/m x 41, .375 x 41 all designed in the sixties but could not afford to build tillabout 1980.

8m/m x .425 WR definetly mine 1994

.358 X .404 full length--- mine 1997

I've had a lot of fun designing many others but there just ain't enough hours left any more.
