Jeffe... your 700 DA is a belted BMG case and quite similar but would not a belted BMG case to the 700 NE dimensions be better? the 700NE is 3.25" long and .780" at the base. Why not have a 10 thou belt and 780 at the base like the 700NE with a .800" belt? Would not be too hard to alter the chamber and dies.

the 700 DA is meant to be the largest sporting round you can fit in the PH action .. and the 700 NE has ignition problems with even federal 215s... its HUGE

work backwards from 4.1", and a .780 bolt face, and see what you can get.
.800 belt is .020 total headspace, boomy, and I would prefer about .820

Can BMG primers be used?
It could measure .775" at .4" ahead of the belt giving 12.5 thou headspace like the 375 HH. I was just thinking of a 700NE homage cart that would be easy without too much custom stuff. a 20 thou rebate is not much... kinda like the WSMs and the ultramags rebate.

.780" rim
.800" belt
.775" casehead
3.25" long

700 NE dies and reamers with a little custom work.

Use 700 NE loads

That would work in the PH right?

This would be quite similar to the 12GFH in terms of size and power.
