Several shooters did the same thing back when bullet jackets were not so easy to come by. One of the first was using copper 22 LR cases to make varmint bullets during WWII. That is how Fred Huntington got started. I believe Corbin still makes dies for such a thing although it hardly seems worthwhile nowadays what with all the good quality jckets available. 45 acp cases make great jackets for .475" bullets, especially since they can be gotten in quantity for free I've fired 45 acp cases as bullets out of my 480, makes for a lightweight hollowpoing If you search sixgunner, John Taffin had an article about loading 45 acp cases in the 475 linebaugh, as I recall they can be launched around 2000 fps. __________________________________________________ The AR series of rounds, ridding the world of 7mm rem mags, one gun at a time. | |||
