Gents-

I just returned from an outstanding adventure with Len Taylor in Dande East and wanted to give a quick report.

Travel was booked through Gracy and was smooth despite Hurricane Idalia. We arrived at Karunga on time and without a hitch. Len is the consummate gentleman and the staff at CMS and at Karunga were all top notch. I could have not asked for better food, service or atmosphere.

We encountered numerous groups of buffalo and plains game and were able to connect with the below old Dugga boy on the third day. This was my first buffalo and I could not be happier. In addition to buffalo, we saw several Kudu bulls, Roan, Sable, Grysbok, Duiker and Impala. Additionally the bird life throughout the concession was exceptional. For my first trip to Africa I could not have been happier. I've been reading this forum for some time and appreciate all the effort and advice!

Cheers!

Good Evening- I’m having a devil of a time uploading pictures. Is there a way I could send them to someone for upload? Cheers.

Congrats TCA. Glad to hear that Len and CMS exceeded your expectations. A first trip to Africa is a life changing experience for many, it was for me. I can help with photos if necessary.

Dande East is an amazing area and has really flourished under CMS's control. I have hunted there on numerous occasions. A wonderful area for the patient and persistent hunter.

Hello Gents- Thank you for the kind words. The rifle is an old Churchill in .404 Jeff. The bullet was a 400 grain Northfork which did fine work as we found him dead about 50 yards away. It was a team effort and Len and the guys were superb.

Cheers!

Which Northfork bullet did you use? I've used the solids previously for elephant with outstanding results. I'm normally a TSX fan but I couldn't find any for the 500NE this year. I'm taking the Northfork Cup Points this time. I hear they are great on buff but it's a new load for me. Did you use the Cup Points by any chance?

Hello Todd- I used the 400 gr softs. Hendershots loaded them to 2250 and the shot was from 70 yards. We found it just under the skin.

Excellent buff and well earned. Like others posting here, I have had a great hunt or two in Dande. Glad you did and always satisfying to see another buff fanatic being created!

Love Northforks!

Use 380 grs softs and 430 gr solids in my 404J. Two good dagga boys this summer, both with heart shots.
