Dakota M-76, 300WSM with 200 grain Nosler Partition

Comments: We had a great hunt. Adam Clements takes care of the details, from the time they pick you up at the airport to when they return you and walk you through for your trip home, you are in good hands. The camps are clean and well run with first rate accomadations.

This is our 2nd time to hunt with PH Brian Van Blerk (did a 21-day hunt with him in the Selous in 2004)and when I booked with Adam it was under the condition that Brian would be our PH. He is one of the best and my wife and I consider him part of the family.

The Lion was taken on day #2.

My wife struggels to lift his head up for a photo.

Lion skull - notice the left side upper molar is missing and the lower molar has a lot of calcificationn on the tooth. The upper part of the skull also had several teeth marksfrom fighting.

Leopard was taken on day #17.

Too many morning & nights in the Leopard blind.

Buffalo

My wife liked to get in there with the boy's - she would even help us load some of the bigger animals.

Steinbok

Lobo Camp

Lobo Kitchen

Lobo Dining Rm

Leopard track w/ 416 Rigby forscale

Dung beattle - they stand on their front legs and push the ball with their rear legs; about every 18" they stop and crawl on top and look around to make sure they are headed in the right direction.

Walking Stick

Skinning Shed

Salting hides

Lion kill ~1 mile from camp

The hot water tank for our tent -had hot water around the clock

Mike, thanks for sharing your photos; obviously you and Mrs. MHC had a great safari. Yours truly was the safari of a lifetime. The trophy quality looks terrific. The oryx is the one that caught my eye, he looks huge.

I'm ready for lunch so I can see the other 1375 photos and hear the stories behind them.

All,

We had a grand time...my wife cried when we left.

Forrest,

I think the Oryx was 28", we were very fortunate taking nice mature animals. We had a 44" buffalo and a 43" buffalo from the same group of dugga boys on the ground, before 8:00am on the first day.

I'll make sure the battery is fully charged on my computer, so we can look at all 1400 pictures...we may have to order dessert though!

We got the leopard hunt on video and my wife shooting a 470NE. Now she wants her own lion and a 470NE double rifle..I'd better get back to work.

I told Brian (PH) that I wanted to taste the lion, so they cooked some up. The meat texture is somewhere between a pork tendeloin & chicken and it was very good..everyone liked it.

Well done MHC. Doesn't look like you left any animals for the next guy to hunt! Even a Bat Eared Fox!! That'll be a cool mount!

I missed a Honey Badger - it kind of startled me....it was making (actually two of them) a lot of racket as it was running off.....Brian was saying "shoot, shoot" and I wasn't sure what it was.

I would love to have a Honey Badger!
I got a Black Backed Jackal two years ago and really like the "smaller" predatory mammals, especially in scenes. Congrats on the Hyena too!

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
