ozhunterBwanamich etc,
The leftover ammo stayed in Zim and we left our rifles at the Guest house in Jo'Burg for our tour which started at Dar es Sallam where we were guests of PH Jonathan Taylor and his wife Lynn {with many thanks}. from Tanga we flew to Zanzibar via Pemba Island where we hung around doing some sight seeing, shoping and diving for three days. Then we flew to Mombasa which was nice {less humid and wet than in Tanz}.
The next day with our Avis RAV4 we shot up the road to the town of Voi and into Tsavo east N/P{from Voi the country was really nice through to Namanga}.
At Tsavo we saw Gerinuk, Lesser Kudu, common plains game, Ele, Grants Gazele some great sightings of Leopard at Ngulia Lodge and some huge Ele Bulls in the Rino area.
After a few days we moved to Ambaseli where the high lights were some huge buff{around 45"} and ele{appox 80lbs} under beautiful Mt Kilimanjaro.
Both Tsavo and Ambaseli were quiet at this time of the year and had some great lodges and camps. Some we saw were Ngulia, Severin Safari Camp, Finch Hattons and Tortilis Camp.
On the last day in Kenya we left Ambaseli park with no brakes which made driving an auto fun till we got to the border town of Namanga {on the Kenyan side of the border with the Logido hunting area in Tanz} where we were mobbed by Masai woman selling curios. After the brakes were fixed we made tracks for Nairobi for the flight back to SA then on to Aus.
Unfortunately again we did not make it north of Nairobi but I know were I will be going next time I get to east Africa.
From what I saw of Kenya in particular the Masai land, I ony hope they open to sport hunting one day soon.
PS; We needed the cruser to tip the Ele over for butchering and it would be impossible to up right it for photos.

Your pictures are absolutely stunning. The one of the buffalo bull defines the term 'dagga boy'. I honestly think it's the best buffalo picture I've ever seen. You should be selling your photographs. Congratulations on everything.

Thanks for resurrecting this post and displaying these amazing photos. The buffalo pic is fantastic, as is the Kilimanjaro shot, but that Elephant trophy pic is the best I've ever seen by far...and I look at all of them, 'cuz that's probably as close as I'll ever get to doing it!
