I flew into the Manson block(public land)last week.

The old Manson hut.

Sun set.

Red stag at 500 meters.

Things didn't go well very well shooting this stag,as i screwed the shot up very badly which spoiled the trip for me.

Heading back to the Manson hut after a night fly camping.

TP, Very interesting photos. Bad shots can spoil a trip, but you still got the stag-- could have been so much worse to wound and lose it--so I don't think you should feel too badly about it. Where is the Manson public block?

Nice, how many days did you go for? How much is it to get flown somewhere?

Thanks for sharing.

James, since you are bigger than the house you were standing in front of, did you get most of the 430kg?

We're waiting for the rest of the story.

Was this an organised, Pro Planned and run hunt?

If so, what othe game was available.

Cost is less than me or most others in Southern Austrlia going on a quality pro run hunt in Nothern Australia. Cost for these hunts, which mainly cater for overseas shooters, is AU$5,000/5 days!

Predator, thanks for "offer". My point was that I and virtually all Australian shooters don't have the type of money I mentioned.

Virtually all of these tours/safaris - call them what you will cater for very well heeled international shooters.

Very few Australians can afford the $.

Isn't there alot of public land for hunting Sambar around Melbourne???

I think you will find a lot of these International hunters are not that well heeled, its just they know what is important in life and don't waste money on crap they don't need.

Come to New Zealand hunting if you want a cheap trip, you will have no problem bringing firearms into N.Z and hunt a block with Helisika.

If i can help in anyway booking a trip let me know.

Yes there is, for now. The new environment minister seems to want to change that...

Thanks for the links. We have a few people in the deerstalking club looking at a trip to NZ.
This will help.
