A BR shooting buddy of mine from Seymour,Texas just got back from OZ. He was able to get this monster with a bow. They told him if the measurement stands, it will be third on the list. I think John said they were hunting out of Gove??

Very nice buff. I should be arriving Numblwar from Gove in 3 weeks. Grass should be drier and burned off in places. Hope to see some big salties, boars, wild ox, dingoes, and maybe do a short scuba-dive in the Gulf of Carpentaria.

Steve,
That is where John hunted out of. You may use the same outfitter.

Congratulations to the hunter.

Steve,
Hope you have a good trip. We look forward to your pictures.

It will be interesting to see if the possum moves in with the dog while you are away.

What spires, what farms are those?

I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

How would this fellow compare?
This was a one shot bow kill from the momab a month or so ago..

Scoring just over 100, so I hear anyway.Perhaps someday I'll get on a buff hunt, but scoring on these things is a mystery to me, heavy and thick? long?
I suppose it's hard to judge..

Hokkaido,
What is "momab"?
++++++++
Ah, I found it. Sometimes spelled momob. An Abo area in Bulman Gorge, 200Km NW of Numblwar

High fence or free range? I've been looking into these hunts as well and was quite surprised to see high fence operations for both Buffalo & Banteng.

Dave and Brad,

Shoot Matt a message as he has a great concession in a truly wild part of the Northern Territory. Definitely no fences there tu2

Cheers,
Mark.

about $9000 for a quality wilderness hunt mate.

Brad - the 'high-fence' deal for buff and banteng isnt what you would expect and isnt high-fence at all really. It is actually a good hunt. The wilderness hunts are much better hunts of course but lesser accommodations and higher transfer costs.

Plus, there is no fence that could hold a wild buffalo bull in--or out-- if he was determined to go. Big Grin
