In less than a month, I will be at CarmorrPlains to hunt with Matt Kelman. I plan on buff, assisting croc trapping, and wild hog. The station sits at the edge of Kakadu and I will be there 5-6 days. What else should be seen/hunted in that area. Thanks.

You may see feral donkeys,dingos.

Try and shoot a pig when you are there as they are monsters.

What will you be shooting with???

I've got a permit to use one of Matt's rifles. I think the choice will be 375 H&H or 416 rem, but not sure. I've always been a fan of the 375.

Are you driving out from Darwin?
Make sure you drop into the pub at Humpy Doo(on the way) and check out the huge horns on the wall....and grab a cold beer. Wink

edit-also try and do a half day boat cruise around the wetlands(leaves from Kakadu),unreal birdlife around those parts.

Try and get to the museum in Darwin, the town was bombed by the Japs during WW2.

Other than donkeys (lots of them) and dingoes there's not much else around that you haven't already mentioned . Brumbies maybe .

The hunting imperative was part of every man's soul; some denied or suppressed it, others diverted it into less blatantly violent avenues of expression, wielding clubs on the golf course or racquets on the court, substituting a little white ball for the prey of flesh and blood.
