Hi Jeff
I think you just have to have the background a little further away so the cartridges don't shadow. A very good line up of cartridges for dangerous game.
Take good care,
Dave

Dave,
Good idea... it's a 4" deep box I sprayed gray... should have done about a foot deep!!

one of those things, on this line up... everyone of them is "Right" just the 470 mbogo is the most correct!!

Nice line-up of DG Suspects. Smiler The other thing that works well to eliminate shadow is to put a table lamp directly above.

Took my 470M out for a whirl this eve.....re-proved to myself that you really have to be in the mood to enjoy shooting it from the bench!! I am always up for shooting it from my hind legs, but sighting a scope in is not a lot of fun at the best of times. Did well though...the Bridgers and A-Frames are printing in the same place, making nice clover leafs...dead on at 50 and dead on at 100. (btw, that little factoid made me realize that the 470M actually shoots flatter than the 416T with 400gr bullets at 2350!! Hadn't realized that before for some reason.)

The best part of the evening was knowing that now that the scope is dialed in with my final loads, I can go back to shooting from standing!

Cheers,
Canuck

sorry i am late to my own party Roll Eyes, just saw the thread...

looks great clap

i think now that the 375 ruger is comming out a std action big bore smacker might just become vogue. jeff, you are the cart vangogh of yer time!

yeah taking pics of carts is dificult i found out. using a framing square or using a papercutter with rule lines is good too. once you book the interviews with all the gunmags they will have pro photographers to take the pics.

the pic says a lot for those bolt throw argument people.

cant wait for the 500 a.r. and the 500 mbogo to join this fearsome crowd.

thanks for all the bother and i hope it inspires others with 7mags taking up space in their vaults to have some fun with a big bore conversion thumb

proves girth matters animal

Great set of Cartridges. I see that I have a few more to go for my shooting and abusing collection.
These photos taken outside show a different "feel" for the cartridges. Makes them look "taller" rather than short. Finding the center by using the grid is a good way to do so. I have a grid in my camera that helps end this problem. I should have looked for a smooth surface as you see one of my cartridges looks tilted. Also, using a normal or slightly tele lens eliminates the "rounding" of the subjects caused by the wide angle lens. For 35mm that means 45 to 58 mm lens up to 85 as best.

Jeffe, I will be contacting you right after I return from Dallas re: .470

Anyone - Are the AR line of cartridges based on the RUM/404J cases?
