458 AR on a sweet vz-24 should be fire forming brass next weekend

416/458/470 barrels for the ruger should make it in this week.. if not, then next

Anyone want to trade a ruger 77 mkI 7remmag for a montana long action, mag bolt face?

Jeffe,

Can a 458 Win Mag or 416 Taylor barrel be rechambered to one of these calibers?

You keep talking these cartridges up and I keep thinking about that box of VZ actions I have sitting around collecting dust. I had each planned out for something a little simpler than a wildcat, but damn it as time goes by I get more and more intrigued. thumb

i'll let jeffe answer this one but the quickest answer is yes 416 a.r. and 458 a.r. would be cheap to convert on those...tell him what he's won jeffe!

Jeffe, the Mk X ships tomorrow for the 416 AR. Doubt if Tom has a bunch of time to chamber it but it may end up the first if you play with the 458 after the 475 Roll Eyes.

All,
the AR will clean up the 416 taylor and 458 winmag chambers... rather well, actually...

I haven't done any of the 30's dean... 338, 358, 366, 375 .. might even think abou the 323 for a stupid/neat rechamber

jeffe...

would you consider making an a.r. 458 #2 on the rum case a tad longer for all the people who bought or converted 458 lotts to give more bang or lower preasure?

the lot case is 2.8" long so a little trimming and forming and voila! the a.r. lott Big Grin sofa

my latest wildcat Big Grin

are there any flies in my beer here? (i would still drink it)

One could simply have the neck/throat run deeper on the 458 AR (oops edit) to use fl brass, the reqular dies should do the trick.

Personally, I don't see the 458 AR full length as an improvement to the 458 Lott, the Lott is a wonderful round as is, and re-chambering would be foolish, unless one went to a 450 Rigby. I mean, if you want to go bigger, why only go a little bigger?
