Before ya all get to excited I am still waiting for my LH long ss action that was promised to be ready to ship as soon as one small part came in, the part was expected within a week or two. If I were to order one of the PH actions, I think I'd go with the 11.2x72 Schuler. I've always liked this cartridge as it's something found well off the beaten path. No problems fitting it length-wise, I'm wondering if I could get a standard bolt to match with considerably rebated rim. | |||

Anyone interested in building or having a large bore custom rifle really should check out the specs on the "PH" action by Montana and compare to others of comparable size. The BBK-02 if I remember only had a bolt diameter of .700" and 1.4" rcvr barrel ring same as standard M98 Mauser but was great for overall length of action and giant size of mag well. I chose the Montana over the bauska for the .805 bolt and 1.505 rcvr barrel ring and not to to mention at the time a lower introductory price than what the BBK-02 was offered for. I believe Olympic Arms was the last manufacturer to offer the BBK, is this action even offered new anymore? Check out what Brownells is retailing the CZ-550 magnum actions for. Not much less than current retail of the "PH". CZ's in my opinion are wonderfull actions but they are still not quite the size needed for the cartridges some of us want to have a rifle based on. These are not cast iron actions but investment cast steel alloy actions made for MRC by Ruger's foundry. And then heat treated just like the Rugers. They will be stronger than Rugers, because they are heavier and thicker. I tested my 77 to over 150,000 psi, and the action held.Ed MZEE WA SIKU | |||

Just got off the phone with the President of MRC to follow up on the progress of the PH action. He {Jeff} informed me that they were currently in the middle of production and could possibly have completed "PH" actions in the April/ May time frame {this year}. Rodney. | |||

initial run at least, will be machined. They can machine in-house, a casting puts them at the mercy of outside forces. One Chrome-Moly, one SS. SS for 700 Hubel 3.25", the CM for a custom 9,3mm RUM. Two more months... Rich DRSS Knowledge not shared is knowledge lost... | |||
