Ordered a Pac-Nor barrel today to go with my 375 Ruger.

Will be the same case -- case length, headspace, shoulder angle, etc -- except the caseneck will be for 416.

Went with a 10-inch twist.

Is this too tight ?

I'd have used a 1-12" twist but I doubt the 1-10" is a bad choice at all.

About the chamber reamer.....can I buy/rent it after your chamber is finished?

Did you have some freebore on it?

and if you don't get the velocity you want, i can rent you the 416 AR reamer, which will give you about 15-20 more grains of capacity, at the same length.

1:10 won't hurt a thing, but it's not, in *MY* opinion, going to gain you a thing over a 14

what do we think reasonable velocity expectations are from a 416 Ruger?

400 @ 2400 max. (if the 416 taylor handloads do 400@ 2350 than that is not a stretch.)

400 @ 2300 for a steady diet

400 @ 2150 when feeling nostalgic and plinking

Bully good show! You will not regret it.
I would not go any slower twist than 12" on a .416 Ruger, or any .416, and would indeed prefer a 10" twist to do what .416's are best at: anything and everything.
