I just learned that Ken Greenlee, most on here would know him as BigDoggy, passed away. He was a major big bore rifle enthusiast, he owned many of the biggest firearms made, and really enjoyed shooting and collecting big bores and odd stuff. If you ever had the chance to visit with him you would have found he was a freindly and kind guy and great to deal with. Rest In Peace Ken. http://thesouthern.com/news/lo...cc-177c778448da.html

I am so upset over this! Ken was the only guy I trusted to shoot some of my heaviest armament! We talked on the phone only last week! Via Con Dios! Old friend! Pretty scary! Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers to do incredibly stupid things- AH (1941)- Harry Reid (aka Smeagle) 2012 Nothing Up my sleeves but never without a plan and never ever without a surprise!

Ken was a bear of a man, one of few I felt small standing next to. For my 60th birthday my brother and I drove down to his house, and took the nickel tour of his house and collection. He says "want to shoot my four bore double Owens rifle...?". Yes. We drove to his brothers house and walked behind it into the trees. There was a 24-26" butt hickory tree growing in a grove. Ken goes, "watch this". He fires two rounds from the rifle, Boom-Boom into a target we stapled up at 25 yds. Like it was a 22 rimfire. I did not do so well. My group shot about two minutes apart was about twice the size of his. That rifle weighed about 24 pounds, empty. He swung it, loaded, like a little six-pound 20 gauge quail gun. He truly was a mountain of a man, and I am pleased that he called me friend. We are diminished... The holes were about 3" apart.

Hate to hear that...I remember reading that he lost a son in an accident a few years ago. Prayers were sent his way from me in droves over that. Then I hear this. His poor family has had its fair share of pain. So young!! I will say not even knowing him, he must have lived, owning some of that artillery. Ken Rest in peace. I hope the ivory is long and heavy where you are! Ed DRSS Member

I am greatly saddened by this. I never talked directly to Ken, but I could tell by the tenor of his posts that he was a true gentleman. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. God Bless. Chip.

Just terrible news! What a shock! Ken was such a fun and gracious guy and we had many looong (Ken liked to talk) phone conversations over the years. Ken was my first customer after I bought AHR from Ed Plummer, and Ken and I went on to build several more rifles together over the years, all ultra big-bores. His big-bore collection was one of the most impressive and extensive I've seen, and he shot them all. He left us way too soon and I'm going to miss him so much. Rest in peace Ken. The email I have for Ken is ksgreenlee@frontier.com if you want to send condolences.

I built two 2 Bore rifles and a 2 Bore pistol for Ken. He definitely had different taste but what a great guy to build for. He welcomed me into his home a couple times and then went out of his way to come visit me at my shop and home. He will be missed for sure.

Sad news. I never met him but was well aware of his incredible big bore collection and his ability to absorb horrendous recoil like it was nothing. It sounds like he was an even bigger man on the inside than the outside and that is saying a lot. I wish I could have met him and I offer my condolences to all his friends and family.
