OK, then it's settled! 500 Rigby it is. Nominal .590" at the base, body 2.38" long, .570" at the top, 40* shoulder, .50" long neck, .5348" at the bottom, .5340" at the top, .012" thick neck, body taper .008" per inch, shoulder difference of just a hair over .035" per side. Who gets the reamer first?! :-P

Actually, I drew up a case awhile back, the Gibbs blown out, with the intention of shooting .510" BT spitzers. The COL was like 4.92" or so, just going off the BMG's neckbase-bullet tip dim. It had a little less than 3/5 the powder room of the BMG. Maybe 750g A-Max at 2450 fps? But, it would fit in a CZ.... Wonder how much freebore a 4" COL 600g solid would have. Could be a fun use of an MRCPH. Cum catapultae proscriptae erunt tum soli proscript catapultas habebunt.

All the above mentioned "wildcats" have already been done!! The only thing I can think of that has not been done is a 50 BMG necked down to a phonograph needle, but hell you baby boomers wouldn't even know what a "phonograph" needle is!! You'd think its a dirty picture or sumpton!! Ray Atkinson Atkinson Hunting Adventures 10 Ward Lane, Filer, Idaho, 83328 208-731-4120 rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com
