Can anyone tick or flick the availability status of the following, and current price if known(rifle or action)? I may be the only infrequently posting bigbore nut who is after an update but in case others want it in the one location..

The giant Borchardt?

The MRC PH?

The other german giant thing(? I think there was a larger than CZ magnum size being talked about here wasn't there a while back?)

The AHR biggest action.

Other?

PS not after dedicated BMG boltactions- we all know where to get one.
And Ed's enfield is still well covered.

Thanks for any input

Ok thanks.

I guess it doesn't look good for the other ones then.

Karl- The MRC PH will be ready in a few
weeks. And I think the best for size and
price. It'll take my 700.
By the way, a 700, that's a 700, that looks
like a 700, with proper belt length and
proper taper to the sides.

The Borchardt may not be available, as the
fellow making them is in bad health. To bad as
it made a beautiful gun for Rob.ED

Ed...

on a side note...

The 600 NE with its rim reduced to the 20 Gauge diamerer should work in the PH with one in the chamber and one below right? the rim of the 20 gauge is .766" so in essence making the 600 NE a 20 Gauge from hell bolt action.

I think, I would like to join the party. If, PH actions actually do become available.

The 700 has got to require a muzzle break. The 585HE loaded to 577NE or slight plus levels should be managable for mere mortals in a 14-16 pound traditionally styled rifle.

Is anyone out there planning a 585 on the PH? I could sure use tips on bbls and stocks and how to bring the project in for a reasonable price.

Boomy-A few guys are using 3.5" 20ga RMC
cases now for 20GA FH, but not in actions
like the PH. With the PH you could really
step out with that long case.

Fourbore-For my 700HE 3.25 with good pad and
16lbs; the ports with internal brake on a decent length barrel handles recoil fine.Ed

Ed That was my thinking. Since the 20 Gauge and the 600 NE are pretty identical minus the rim diameter you can stamp the barrel 20 gauge and just reduce the rim size of the 600 cases that you can order from A2 (Pretty easy) and go with either a true .615" 20 Gauge or a .620" 600 version for a possibly 55K psi loads to get 600 NE to close to 600 OK performance.

The grand thing is it is a 20 gauge!

My real question was feeding. Will it be hard to get the next round to feed? just thinking one in the chamber and one in the mag.

The PH could just be a good option for higher preasure 20 gauge loads.

I like the idea of the reduced rim 600 Nitro and a 20 Gauge shotgun.

Ok, so there is a small group planning to use a PH for a 700HE. Could I ask a couple/few questions? Maybe join that party.

1. is there a thread on this forum that details the 700 HE development. etc.

2. Is brass available, not formed from xyz but ordered ready to load?

3. Can I get a bullet mould and sizing dies? maybe try 1000 grain lead bullet?

I got a crazy idea, to use black powder or one of the substitutes. If PH bolt is easy to field strip for cleaning and good brass can be had, also easy.

1.
http://forums.accuratereloadin...1043/m/149101728/p/1
This thread had a lot of info for the action in question.

Ed can point you to the other main one on his 700HE developments.

2. No. I think its pretty much still a case(pardon the pun) of paying Ed or someone to custom make them.

3. I'd say yes for sure. In Australai CBE would do it no probs, I'm sure you guys have even more options.
BP etc- no idea.

Fourbore--- I have a bunch of my 700s with the
belts done and just have to expand them as I fill
orders. I sent out some over the last year.
Got a bunch done to send to GLZ. After awhile
if it gains enough shooters we can get a run of brass
made in big numbers. The ones I do are exactly like
what a mfg would make, for strength.I've tested
700 gr slug with 200gr of Blue dot. Case extracted
fine. I have 4 reamers, anf CH4d is working on dies.ED
