boom stick411 pondoro (.411/.375 Ruger): Hereby Released To The Gun Trade
yes it is 6 of this 1/2 dozen of the other of the 416 and 423 versions

but it is the only one that will use pistol bullets to boot for light weight bullets and cheap plinking. it honors john "pondoro" taylor and his love of the 450-400 nitro

25 November 2006, 00:47
RIPCongratulations boom stick. You got Dibbs, FWIW.

Lessee, so far, released to the Gun Trade, in the magnanimous fashion of John Rigby & Co. with the .470 Nitro Express, we beat the Shot Show unveiling of the parent .375 Ruger:
.411 Pondoro (Boom Stick Arms, Inc.)
.416 Finn (RIPoff Arms, Inc.)
.404 Aagaard (RIPoff Arms, Inc.)
Anybody else want to make it official on other .375 Ruger kittens? Not much room to squeeze anything between the above, as there are only .005" to .007" steps between the three:
.411
.416
.423
Then that huge gap from .375 to .411? It really begs for something unique like a ".395 John."

25 November 2006, 00:51
boom stickel jeffe is doing a 338 version...got a name for it jeffe???
25 November 2006, 01:13
HarrisMay I submit my name for the .35 and 9.3 versions?
The price of knowledge is great but the price of ignorance is even greater.

This should be good, please do, I'm sure boom stick would appreciate the additions.

Make it official, released to the Gun Trade, named first come, first served. Post it here.

25 November 2006, 01:24
boom sticksorry...the 35 version is called the newton ( it is so close it is interchangeable, also it is the case that the 375 ruger was designed off of). 9,3 is claimed by 366 torque dubbed the 9,3 torque i believe. the open ones are the 8mm, .308, 7mm. .270, 6.5mm, .257, .22, and .17.
25 November 2006, 01:27
RIP.35 Newton is different, Harris gets at least a new name for the .358/.375 Ruger, that if .366 Torque lays claim to the 9.3. Let's be precise here.
The Ruger is going to be slightly bigger than the Newton or I will eat my hat!

25 November 2006, 01:30
boom stickyes slightly larger

but you wont catch me calling it the 35 whatever...its a newton!
torque already laid claim to it on another thread...i'll put up the smoke signal.
25 November 2006, 01:35
RIP

The laughing animal is getting all wet!
Amazing how silly this can be. Gimme a break! Harris, go ahead and name it. Boomie can just censor it in his own mind, or he can call his the ".400 Newton." Gee, I think that has been done before. How could Boomie be so crass?

25 November 2006, 01:41
boom stick https://forums.accuratereloading.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/4711043/m/395104515/p/3"Soon as I get my hands on them, they're morphing into a .366 Torque!!!!!!!!!!"

alright, you got me there rip...

but the 9,3 goes to torque

25 November 2006, 01:53
HarrisOk guys just so there is no confusion. I hereby lay claim to the inventions of .318 Caviar (.330 caliber after the 318 WR) and the .333 Caviar (in spirit of 333 Jeffrey).
The name caviar is given to these cartridges under the assumption that people who may use these cartridges will be able to relate to the name
The .35 version is still up for debate and in my opinion my claim is valid since Newton is a wee bit different. I need to have my name on a cartridge designed for the common folks too (being of that variety myself)
The price of knowledge is great but the price of ignorance is even greater.
25 November 2006, 01:58
RIP.318 Caviar: .330 caliber
.375 Ruger
.411 Pondoro
.416 Finn
.404 Aagaard
To be continued.
25 November 2006, 02:02
boom stickwell put harris...
i will hereby proclaim the 7mm 8mm 9mm and 308 as the AMERICAN, caps to imply saying american with pride

308 AMERICAN...i like it

220 grainers @ 2800 fps
all this is a moot point if ruger chambers them themselves

but i think the 411 pondoro and 404 aagaard is safe

25 November 2006, 02:29
RIP.308 American
.318 Caviar
.375 Ruger
.411 Pondoro
.416 Finn
.404 Aagaard
Boomie, if you have a 7mm, 8mm, and 9mm "American" that could be too confusing for bubbas who can recognize the word "American" but don't count too well. Liability for Boom Stick Arms, Inc.: Suppose Bubba fires a 9mm American in a 7 mm American?
Please reconsider the multiple Americans.
How about:
7mm Native-American
8mm African-American
9mm Polish-American ... Nah, forget the hyphenated's, one American is enough.

270 WTFNA1
7mm ruger
300 WTFNA1
338 ruger
358 ruger
366/9,3 ruger
(sigh) we all know these, except perhaps the 366, will be the spawn of this case...
and it will go down down down and we'll all find out that the 264 and probably the 7 are barrel burners
338 ruger is one i'll do, but not until it's a factory case.
btw, i'll have the 375 ruger probably a month after ruger gets it out in the world
jeffe

BlueprintedI believe the 7mm(160s), 338 (250s)and 416(400s) will be the ticket for a 3 gun battery. I will order a 416 reamer from Kiff on Monday if someone has the true specs for the brass. the ones posted I believe are close, but would like the exact factory measurements. I got a VZ24 needing a new pipe. Straight neck up, no other changes. Just get 375 Ruger dies bored out in the neck or get them coverted to bushing dies. I have been looking at the big supply houses to get my hands on a box of loaded rounds. I get the specs we get the reamer.
25 November 2006, 03:16
jeffeossolet me be really clear...
kiff does NOT have the specs for the 375 ruger. these are not released to the trade, as yet
guys, unless the neck is exactly the same as the 308, there will need to be at least 3 difference datum for headspace, from big to medium to little ones
jeffe
25 November 2006, 03:22
RogerGee,
I lay claim to the 459/375 RKA.
That's a 458 "Roger Kick Ass".

I want my law suit money now. Godzillions!!!

Roger QSL AKA...RKA for the legal types in this group.
25 November 2006, 03:30
BlueprintedI would have already had one coming if Dave had the specs. If someone has them locked away somewhere and wanted to share I would order one ASAP in 416, and would have no problem sharing. I beleive the gentleman that did the scale measurements not to long ago is very, very close, but not close enough for me to order a reamer and build a gun around.

M70NutHow about the 390 Hellfire???
"We band of 45-70'ers"
25 November 2006, 05:12
mr rigbyor the .264 Nemi perhaps.........
25 November 2006, 21:50
RIPSerious players so far, let's try to keep at least .005" difference in calibers:

.264 Nemi (What is Nemi?) (mr. rigby)
.308 American (boom stick)
.318 Caviar (.330cal) (Harris)
.375 Ruger
.390 Hellfire (M70Nut)(custom barrel and bullets)
.395 Ripper (RIP)(custom barrel and bullets)
.411 Pondoro (boom stick)
.416 Finn (RIP)
.404 Aagaard (.423cal) (RIP)
.425 Westley Ruger (.435cal) (RIP)
.458 Roger Kick "Butt" (Roger) (We shall see if maybe Roger wants to reconsider. After all I changed the ".395 John" to ".395 Ripper," one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.)

25 November 2006, 22:22
mr rigbyShe (Nemi) is a Norwegian wildcat.

26 November 2006, 08:01
RogerRip,
Ok, 458 RKB instead of 459 RKA, but, I still want Godzillions!...

Roger QSL AKA know as RKB

26 November 2006, 16:49
jeffeossohere's "my" names for them... i bet no money will be associated with them, but these names are closer to the factory names...

I promised the wife only a few more rifles. So I need to build a .366 Torque (366-375 Ruger).
Why because 9.3s are better!!!

OK, I'm stirring the s**t now, but seriously, this would make a great rechamber choice for 9.3x62 owners. As the brass should be more readily avaible than 9.3x64 stuff.

ME

16 years ago I got a 30-338 built for my dad for fathers day, opening the chamber to a beltless, almost equal to a 300Webbie cart would be neat!

prof242Well, a friend who calls me the "President of the Republic of Redundancy" says I need to become involved.
Soooo...How about the .385 Balderdash? Or maybe call it the .385 WTF,O. (what the f---, over). Jeffeoso and BoomStick are hereby granted the rights to select one of the two names and garner all profits thereof.

boom stickp242...
here is my idea...
the ruger mauser line

or r.m. fer short...
358 ruger-mauser...(358 norma mag performance)
a 57 mm ruger case necked to 358 with a cal length neck and 35/40 ish degree shoulder with the same body taper...now THATS a new one...now i claim all calibers fron 22-458 in this new config. (458 ruger-mauser needs body taper blown out)
the 57 mm version will have the same case capacity as the 458 win mag... soooo the 416 r.m. will have the same performance as the 416 taylor and the 458 version 458 win mag perf. the 338 version 338 win mag performance, you get the picture...turn yer 7 mauser into a 7 mag in performance!
what say the peanut gallery???
28 November 2006, 04:49
prof242Uh, just one problem for me, BoomStick, I'm a sinistral, southpaw, lefty, etc. Might as well just keep to the Ruger-Ruger rather than a Ruger-Mauser.

Idaho SharpshooterAll right Boomie, et al...we do have rules here that need to be followed!
1. check with Ruger and Hornady. They may have patented the case in nineteen calibers already.
2a. you can play air guitar.
2b. you can own and use air guns.
2c. you have to buy a reamer and build a rifle before you can name and tout it here, no air cartridges.
just following the rules...
