I called Corbon yesterday just to get an update. They will talk all day about the wondrous object, but not quote delivery time or pricing. George: go get us some pictures of the one at WWG, if you would please... Rich

That's it- I'm in. Put me down for a magnum length, too. Will they take an endorsed blank check?

We've all been down this road before. I believe to command a premium price, there needs to be something very desirable and possibly unique about the CorBon action. So far I see Nothing special or unique about it. I would NEVER pay over 2K for any bolt action ever again, and that includes the GMA. Remember, we all worked with Montana Arms on the PH action as a less expensive action that was designed specifically to address ALL the shortcomings of even the CZ 550 and it did, although it took way longer than any of us expected. Even I lost faith in that project, but in the END Montanna Arms did indeed deliver. The good ol CZ550 has proven itself in the BIG BORE Rifle Arena for decades now.Its more than adequate as it comes from the factory and with just a little effort could be made to rival the VERY VERY best out there. I've said this before and I'll say it again. I'll quote another poster here, the title of this thread should be "Another reason to buy a CZ550". -Rob Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers to do incredibly stupid things- AH (1941)- Harry Reid (aka Smeagle) 2012 Nothing Up my sleeves but never without a plan and never ever without a surprise!

Pro bono comedy writing by tin can, thanks. If RGB wanted to clutter up his shop and had nothing better to do with his time, he would not need investors for a measly 200K. Even pro bono action manufacturing and giveaway is just too many headaches from BATFE alone. Better at least wait until the current carpetbaggers have caught the next rail-ride out of DC, hopefully tarred and feathered. I certainly agree that a worked-over CZ can be as good as it gets, except to those who are legends in their own minds or have more money than brains.

OK! One confirmed taker for the Corbon! Who'll admit to be next???

I have to agree with Rob, but isn't it true that a rifle built on a 5K action will kill an animal a lot deader than one built on a CZ550 action?

G. Hansen, Those are nice pictures of what looks like a fine action! Best regards, D'Fan

Yep, ditto, and who made that one-piece bottom metal? Quite the integral drop box.

I'm not positive but that sure looks like a Duane Wiebe' one-piece CZ bottom metal. Jim "Life's hard; it's harder if you're stupid" John Wayne

-beautiful. Two things that need to be immediately addressed on a CZ are the bolt handle and shroud.

With enough time and money - or equipment and skill - almost any action can be turned into a great rifle The issue is , how much of either are you willing to spend? For most folks good enough is good enough and others are willing to spend absurd amounts for what they consider perfection. Who cares? It's their money and time and if Peter Pi or D'Arcy Echols or David Miller or Peter Nelson are willing to give it their best and take a chance on finding a buyer then good for them. If a used Savage 110 is all someone else requires then let them buy it and go hunting. There are a hell of alot more important thing in this life than $$$ to argue over. Phil, NEWS UPDATE: the Cor-Bon action is rumored to be manufactured entirely from unobtainium. Would you care to have me post a three-page listing of the fabulous new actions by name companies during the last ten years that have actually been manufactured, let alone delivered to customers? It is one item long, the MRC PH action. The issue is not about cost, but availability. Call Peter Pi and tell him you want to buy an action, and how many yankee $$$, and a guaranteed, in writing, delivery date. You have a better chance of being elected governor of Alaska... regards, Rich

That may be true and I'll bet that the folks on here who are claiming to have the ability to turn out superior actions would be the same. Not that they can't - but it comes down to juggling time and finances and finding someone willing to pay you a livable wage for doing it. And then doing it!! folks like D'Arcy Echols and David Miller are not forcing anyone to buy their products - and they are not charging as much per hour as your local doctor or attorney either.
