Personally, I feel that the snake shaped bolt handle and croc + hippo squarebridges is taking it rather too far. And brings to mind that over-engraved Blaser doublerifle made for the UAE minister (Hamad?). Kind of like a rifle version of MTVs "Pimp my ride"...
But still, it's definately unusual and interesting.

Michael RobinsonPeter Hofer is one of the absolute best craftsmen on earth, plus he is a brilliant artist.
That rifle is not for hunting, or even firing, at all, although it undoubtedly could be used in the field to good effect. It can only be appreciated as a work of art.

Idaho SharpshooterI could find room for this one in my gun vault as well, even if it is a bit striking for my personal taste. I am aware of the trememdous ME of the 500, but 10,000Kg = 22,000ft lbs of ME...the recoil must be something else...?
Or, did I miss something in the trnslation?

bigdoggy700Impact energy must mean something besides regular muzzle energy in ft. lbs. I certainly have never heard of a 500 Jeffrey load with anywhere near 20000 ft. lbs. Usualy around 6700 ft.lbs for a 500 Jef. ????

Idaho SharpshooterI briefly owned, back in the late 'seventies, a WR field grade double in 22 Hornet. Just a bit of scroll engraving, and a grip cap with three inlaid gold initials. World's finest (bar none) small game rifle. Leaves out to 300yds, a bit of a stretch.
The rimfire is really nice. I have a three year old grandson that would love to have this rifle to replace his Chipmunk.

jstevensIt probably won't ever be used, but that long pointed tang inletted that tight might work like a splitting wedge when you fire one of those .500's! I know if I were stocking a big bore, I'd want a little space behind the tang.
